Seamus Heidenreich is a self taught artist hailing from Sydney Australia. An illustrator, installation artist, Muralist and painter who now works out of Berlin Germany.
Seamus has exhibited all across the east coast of Australia and has
completed a four month art residency in Berlin, Germany. Seamus has collaborated with the likes of Romance was Born (Sydney based fashion duo) and work with clients such as 7 for all Mandkind denim and Eclectic sound studios.
Focusing on the interactions of humans and nature, seamus creates
worlds that depict scenes at there climatic state." We are all cast from the same shell". Everyone in this world experiences transformations whether they be spiritual, physical or mental. In his work are many metaphors explaining and considering these stages in life, but in his own unique way.

A little more about BOX BOUND
'Box Bound' is the brainchild of Seamus Heidenreich, conjured up during a three-month art residency. Throughout this time Heidenreich slept, ate, painted and contemplated in a room no bigger than garden shed. Using only materials which he found, or those at hand, Heidenreich began the Box Bound project.
Heidenreich was not hemmed in by his resources, or by the parameters that were set for him. He was liberated by them. Within his box, Heidenreich could now contextualise his interactions with the world surrounding him. The very simplicity of his materialsโthe colour palate of yellows, reds and bluesโallowed him to approach the most complex of ideas with clarity and poise. We are now left with the quintessence of this insight.
The show opens tonight if anyone is in Berlin come along for our opening, otherwise it will be up until the 22nd of February. EisenbahnStr.14 10997 Berlin Germany.
Mother Drucker will be releasing 3 limited edition screen prints alongside the show which will be realesed tonight in store and tomorow morning online.

The original punk ghetto where those who did not want to be drafted into the German army stayed during their National service years. I was there in 1985 dossing down in a punk squat round the corner from Checkpoint Charlie: amazing. The Tube came and filmed everyone and some of my mates were on the show. I don't know what it is like now, but definitely it has more character than the rest of Berlin put together.

It's just a crap tourist trap now. You're better off avoiding Mitte and heading further east to Prenzlauer Berg and Friedrichshain or south to Kreuzberg.

Mother Drucker is offering a 4 week beginners screen printing course, with 5 lessons from 12 March โ 9 April. It is a complete course specialising in fine art printing on paper, which aims to take you from a beginner to an intermediate printer.
This course has been created specially to encourage and benefit working artists, so a keen interest in art and making your own limited edition prints is important to get the most out of this course.
During the course you will get the chance to work with our 2 x 1.5 meter manual printing table, quality water based inks and paper and our in house trained printer.
During the 5-lesson course you will learn:
ยท An Introduction to screen printing.
ยท Teaching in pre print preparation (preparing your image digitally or by hand) / Photoshop.
ยท How to prepare your screen and equipment.
ยท You will be taught about the different techniques in printing e.g photographic printing (CMYK).

I was in Berlin a couple of years ago now, ended up on a tour with these guys, really good if your short on time you'll get to see some more than you would, going it alone. If I remember right it's a free tour, and the guide gets paid by your tips.
