Banksy Applause Print, by oneeye on Nov 2, 2011 20:27:46 GMT 1, How many signed sets were sold?
Not many.
There are 6 printers proofs. And a few celebrities got sets from the regular edition. (At least that's what I was told.)
Is the set being offered a p/p or reg edition?

Banksy Applause Print, by Lunch Special on Nov 9, 2011 16:32:35 GMT 1, if there is a reasonably priced one out there and a forum member is looking to sell or trade this one promise it will go to a good home in the states.

Banksy Applause Print, by chichi carter on Nov 9, 2011 16:41:30 GMT 1, Someone had an unsigned Applause they were willing to let go for 850£ about a week ago. I can't recall what the thread was though. Great price considering most of them are priced around 1200£. Good luck with your quest!

Banksy Applause Print, by elem on Apr 16, 2012 12:18:46 GMT 1, Banksy - Applause Size: 1140mm x 760mm (not measured) Stamped and numbered edition of 500. Purchased directly from Pictures On Walls on the release date in 2006. I have the Certificate of Authenticity from Pest Control.
I really really didnt want to have to do this, but the time has come to sell one of my beloved Banksy prints due to lack of funds, and desperately needing a new car.
I will happily provide all the relevant photos by e-mail if you require.
I will post this fully insured, and wrapped in POW acid-free paper in its original tube. UK only. Collection is also welcome once the funds have cleared.
I was going to put this straight on ebay, but i'd much rather give an honest collector a chance, and see it go to a good home.
Sensible offers only please.
Thanks.

Banksy Applause Print, by hnkpnk on Apr 17, 2012 19:53:11 GMT 1, What do POW mean by "From the LA Edition"? As you say this is from POW. Or are all Applause and all versions of the other five "from the LA Edition"?
Not meaning to throw any doubts on your sale. Just curious.

Banksy Applause Print, by elem on Apr 17, 2012 20:24:27 GMT 1, Ha, yeah i've pondered over this too. It was definitely purchased in the UK directly from POW, so i'm guessing all the versions are "From the LA edition" as they were first released at the Barely Legal exhibition?
I would definitely like to hear from somebody else with this print!
Thanks Michael, i'm already regretting selling it and its not even sold yet! Haha. Unfortunately i'm in desperate need for the cash...

Banksy Applause Print, by silvermyn on Apr 17, 2012 20:51:25 GMT 1, Pictures added... Had a few good offers so far, just after that little bit more. Im not looking for anywhere near the one on ebay, so make me some offers! Cheers. Well, seeing "From the LA Edition" written on that COA has really stumped me.
I got a COA for the unsigned version of Trolleys LA Edition and it doesn't have "From the LA Edition" written on it. In fact it states the Year as being 2007 rather than 2006.
I remember raising the point with POW at the time and I was told that all these prints were from the same edition so the COA's were kept consistent with the POW run of 2007.
They seem to have done a bit of a U-turn since then

Banksy Applause Print, by Deleted on Apr 17, 2012 21:00:38 GMT 1, Are we sure that the person opening the file on POW's computer hasn't opened the 'Applause' COA word document and has sent it to print and not double checked the document...?
I thought there were a number of obvious differences between the LA and POW version...?
Someone will link the thread I'm sure!

Banksy Applause Print, by rperry on Apr 17, 2012 21:11:52 GMT 1, Yes Speebe that is possible, the LA edition has more contrast and a lighter sky.
There is thread from ages ago with a guy that owned both prints. The LA edition also has the printers chop mark. I think Modern Multiples did it.
edit: also deckled edges
edit2: link to Modern Multiples printing the series
Sorry I tried to embed but it didn't work.

As the POW edition of Applause was released November 16, 2006 the year on your COA is wrong.
It's not too much to ask that they get their COAs right.

Banksy Applause Print, by silvermyn on Apr 18, 2012 7:18:06 GMT 1, In the vid the Modern Multiples state they did a run of 100 prints plus half a dozen ap's. However, Christies has an LA edition set coming up for sale tomorrow numbered 113/500. Can anyone make sense of this?
Were a portion of the LA edition (100-150) printed by POW perhaps...?

What happened was MM was supposed to do all 500 but only printed a first batch of 100. That's why they are numbered xxx/500. I'm not sure what happened between MM and POW but the rest of the editions were never printed. As you know, POW then printed their versions of the prints but never did Sale Ends Today and Destroy Capitalism.

It's obviously a totally solid print, the whopping size is the double edged sword... Personally I love the Applause print and think the colour on yours are really strong.
Good luck with the sale...
Expressobeans show the average at $1379 and a little increase in the past 6 months.
