These last two prints put out by Manifolds really take HM's prints to another level (IMO). There's no comparing them to previous releases, including all the penguins.

I donโt begrudge anyone buying a print, enjoying it for a few years then happening to make some profit if/when the time comes to sell it.
However to generalise thatโs thereโs โnothing wrong with flippingโ when a large slice of print releases are hoovered up and relisted on here and ebay at a huge mark-up in seconds seems a little naive?
Obviously entitled to your own opinion and just my 2 cents but I presume any art fan who has missed out on a release probably has similar inclinations.

Wish I was still a guardian so I could look at the IP's, and see that they come from the same place...

So youโve never bought a art piece you love, put it on your wall for a few years and then flip it for a profit? Looking at your past sales posts contradicts your what your saying..

I believe the general thought that if held for several years it is not considered a flip in the sense that is commonly used on here. You are no longer preying on peoples FOMO and there is equal chance the work may lose value.

Iโm not sure if youโre talking to me or Woof but in my case no. I think we can probably agree thereโs a huge difference is someone buying a print and having it displayed on the wall of their home for years and buying and selling one before the ink has dried? One is most likely bought as a piece of art. The other is just a colourful sheet of money.

When you buy something and keep it and later down the road you sell it more then what the purchase price was I consider that flipping. Mabey our terms of the word flipping may not be the same.

I think โflipโ refers to the speed you complete the process in. People who flip houses do it in a short period. Itโs not used to describe Mr and Mrs Smith who bought their house in 1975 and sold it for a profit in 2013.

It could be said that the couple ended up flipping the home 40 plus years down the road. Same meaning.

Flipping is not simply selling for a profit regardless of the time line. It's selling for a profit in the short term while minimising costs.
While not gospel, Investopedia may help clarify it for you.
DEFINITION of 'Flipping' Flipping refers to purchasing an asset with the intent of selling it for a quick profit rather than holding on for long-term appreciation.
