Eelus ‘Adrift’ this thursday, by chevyav53 on Feb 5, 2018 16:58:44 GMT 1, I put a Joe Webb print in one of the bathrooms a few months ago. Depending on the day steams up the upper portion a little, no issues I've seen thus far. Sealed, matted so no touching the glass so should be ok.

Depending on the day steams up the upper portion a little, no issues I've seen thus far. Sealed, matted so no touching the glass so should be ok. I have no extractor fan in there, after a shower this morning the whole front was steamed, then it cleared. The glass is directly on the print, no mount. This is the complete opposite of how I treat my prints, I'm aware of the risks though... I could of course scan it in, print it and use that instead but it doesn't seem right.
Besides, if mine gets destroyed one day it means there's one less out there hah I wonder how many will be destroyed by this sort of thing

Yeah, although I will be pretty annoyed if it doesn't last more than a month haha I'm expecting it to be a couple of years, we'll see.

Eelus ‘Adrift’ this thursday, by Deleted on Feb 5, 2018 18:55:38 GMT 1, I ended up framing my "Adrift" with conservation methods (v-hinges, spacers, acid-free mounting board, etc), but I do like the bathroom idea for this print. If I were doing it, I think I'd use a narrow white mat for spacing and corrugated plastic as a mounting board. Then, you use use some copper or aluminum frame tape to seal everything together between the glass and the mount board. As long as it starts dry, you shouldn't run into any moisture problems.

Eelus ‘Adrift’ this thursday, by GMA on Feb 11, 2018 19:13:52 GMT 1, Last night I came back from a visit to London, pretty smashed. First thing I did when stumbling through the front door was head straight for the loo, and it was so funny seeing the print. I was there for ages just starring at it (the print that is ). It made me chuckle.

Eelus ‘Adrift’ this thursday, by damo on Jun 29, 2020 12:59:02 GMT 1, Isn't the bathroom a bad idea? Yeah, not the best place due to steam but this is why I framed it myself too because the print was £100, I don't expect it to last a lifetime in good quality. I just want to give people who visit our house a little giggle when the get into the bathroom. I sealed the back, about three times and also used a clear sticky back bit of plastic to cover the whole back too. But steam will still get through no doubt, probably from the front. Although the frame was 40x40, so it fits perfectly in there. I'll post a pic of it in a few months time and we can see how it's looking. How long did this last in the end GMA? Im looking to do something in my bathroom with a relatively cheap print and seal up the frame best I can but just intrigued as to whether it'll last months, years or literally just an hour or two!
