Because there is only 30.. it’s rhe only fair way I guess?

Could buy 4 sale ends at that price -that was a true lottery

Like a it's a memory of a persons thoughts written down and passed through time. As a multiple it cheapens the idea and becomes a labour of production resulting in a commodity, rather than the inspired message that the artist wanted to portray.

That or magic.. I know the answer too 🔮

Supply and demand to answer your first question.

Couldn't you say the same about any print edition too?

This is a sculpture that is entirely done by hand, and by the artist himself. Factor in the time it must have taken to do each one, and I'd say the price is justified! I love it, and hope to get lucky enough to purchase one

Couldn't you say the same about any print edition too? A print, by definition is a copy of something. Whether it's a copy of a painting or a copy of an image, a print is a reproduction. An original painting or sculpture will always have a certain magic and soul to it far more than a reproduction would. If only one of these was made, it would have hold far more resonance than this lottery sale holds.
If there is an original of this piece and these reproductions were made, then that's a different story and I apologise, but making multiples of an object just seems like producing ornaments.

"All done by hand" and that 3D printer.
Lovely piece. I actually like it quite a bit. And I think the cost correlates well with the amount of time put into each piece. Boss won't let me put it out, I'm guessing. But I'll throw my hat in the ring with all the 1000s of others with multiple email accounts.

Pejac • Desprestigio, by jbelleit on Nov 30, 2017 22:11:03 GMT 1, Hmmm...Pejac's first sculpture...I hope to get one. Yes, it is quite expensive (for me), but I really like him as an artist...more than say Eine for making pretty letters (not that I have beef with those who like Eine). Maybe in 10 years no one will have heard of Pejac (though I tend to doubt it). But I though the point of buying art was to appreciate it, not flip it just for the sake of the almighty dollar. I like Desprestigio. I like the statement it makes. just for the record.... Pejac made many good sculptures - this ist not the first sculpture and not the first edition sculpture. My bad...I guess I misread part of Pejac's description...first time for a lottery release, not edition sculpture. Thanks for catching that...
Actually...from Pejac's instagram: "I am very happy to announce the upcoming release of DESPRESTIGIO, my first limited edition sculpture." Sooo...either he is wrong or you might be a bit off...

I'm not so sure about that... Wouldn't a PET bottle need uv protection to stop it going 'milky' over time?

I think I will enter and make the call IF I get chosen. Considering my luck with entries so far, I won't be holding my breath for them. I too was hoping for a print release, ideally one of the shields, forest in smoke stacks, or wood based ones. I like that he is still keeping the art interesting
