Banksy Golf Sale Print, by leehambly on Dec 12, 2007 13:45:21 GMT 1, "if you are familiar with POW prints - they have a sort of ripped finish around the edges" Golf sale never had deckled edges. The tube is newer than the print. POW didn't have the skull stamp then and not the tissue paper either. That said I don't think it's a fake, but an original in bad condition and delivered with tube and paper from some newer POW print.
I did wonder about the POW tissue paper... only fairly recent releases have had it, but I assumed they had just forgotten it in the past maybe? And the deckled edges appears to be fairly new addition to the scene... definitely shit response, smells fairly fishy now.

I wasn't my intention to mislead anybody about the print
When I bought the print 4 years ago I had it professionally framed, and I wasn't aware the "trimming" caused such damage, unfortunately because of the amount of time that has elapsed I canโt remember what the original sate of the edges where (be it straight or frayed) I presumed they frayed like the morons print.
I can whole heartedly assure that there has been no intentional damage to the print.
I have tried to retrieve the auction by posting your concerns in order so everybody is made aware
The tube and tissue paper isn't the original that came with the Banksy (I believe it comes from an Eelus print) it was just in order to protect the print during transit

I'm no framing guru, but a couple of mm round the edge (frayed or straight) just shouldnt be a problem. Kudos for the honesty though, I sense some wouldnt even mention it in the first place.

A such, I'm still suspicious - but I'd definitely look into getting some kind of compensation from them, as they've devalued a print that - in a number of years could have been worth a very, very large sum of money.

I bought it this way off Ebay about a year and a half ago and the original owner had tacked it to their wall(must not have known how big Banksy would become at the time), so there are holes in the top corners and bottom center of the print. Despite the damage, it is a great, hard to find piece and a classic Banksy image from the unsigned edition.
I would like to trade it for a NY released Faile piece and am open to all offers. I already own Mary, Hits and Crashes, Strange Encounters so wouldn't be looking for those ones.
I have included pictures of both the print and the damaged areas below.

I released news that I am selling these pieces on Tuesday and over the last few days Iโve had different people offering difference prices as time has passed. My original expectations have been met but it seems still that there is interest to buy at higher levels. I now donโt want to put out prices on these pieces and I am running a blind auction so to speak, kindly suggested by โnite253โ. So the auction will run over the weekend and on Monday the highest bidder gets the respective pieces. This way I know what people are willing to pay in the end and everyone is happy. It is very time consuming negotiation with 25 people at one time with people offering swaps and money and all else. Please submit your highest bids to either my email address (Robert.mackay@clarksons.co.uk or send me a pm on this forum. If everyone interested submits the absolute max they will pay then I think this gets the best outcome for everyone. If you miss it for this money then you will be fine with that because that was your absolute max, and if you get it then youโll be happy because you got the piece you wanted. I canโt think of a fairer way to run this.
The pieces of most interest are
Christ with Shopping Bags (signed and numbered) bought from POW, so they will confirm that I am the only owner and original buyer. Also I have the receipt for this.

Regarding opinions as to whether it would be worth more than a signed print or not... this requires the proverbial answer 'not a snowball's chance in hell'. If its unsigned and unnumbered, its a back door (unauthorized) print. Post some photos though, I am sure we would all be curious to see it.
