Me.
I'm not after the screen print version either, that's why I was asking what screenprint was being released on opening night so if it was BFO I could pick one up for someone (although before you all start PMing me I've already been asked)

I must admit that prefer the look of the print on the sheet of dinar bank notes though but i'll always have much respect for this piece in any format.

shell blood for oil released 3pm, by Strange Al on Jul 9, 2007 10:56:18 GMT 1, I was talking to Chris after and he said on the Saturday the website had 3/4 million hits from 9000 different people. Immense.
If those figures are accurate - that's an astounding amount of interest in this print! 9000 different IP addresses is just an amazing level of interest! I can't believe how the scene has grown!
Congrats Chris and SOS!!!

it's just amazing how quickly this has all exploded, I couldn't believe ppl were talking about the hand stencilled Turin Scam being worth up to a 1k...but when you think of the low edition number and the snowballing interest maybe it's not so crazy

Indeed - with that level of interest, the prices for Beej's work in the secondary market aren't at all surprising. And, probably more sustainable than I thought. Though, I still think they are completely crazy!
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Chris' work and think he's created some stunning images to date. It's great for him and SOS that things are going so well. Long may it continue!!!!
Though, when you consider what other art you can buy for £1,000+ it kind of puts things into perspective. For that sort of cash you can buy limited edition signed prints from some of the most famous contemporary artists in the world. People who have been exhibiting for years, who have a long established reputation and whose works hang in contemporary galleries throughout the world. We often get into the debate about the stability of the market when considering Banksy's work. IMO I don't think it's the Banksy works that you need to worry about so much, it's the smaller artists in the scene that will really struggle if we do see some sort of crash.
If you can get a Beejoir work from the primary source - amazing!!! Though, I'd think long and hard before shelling out £1,000+ for a SBFO or Turin Scam. I know people say they don't care - they just love the images so much. Though unless you have an incredibly high disposable income, you can't buy art at £1K+ without some thought about residual value.

Got to agree there!
I do like it...but would not want the Shell logo on my wall,
perhaps in my garage as I do use "Optimax" Fuel . from time to time

Anyone who agrees with the above comment and managed to get one, please allow the print to go to someone who will be putting it on the wall, namely ME!

good point, to put it in context I was quoted £7,500 for a pair of original Micallef heads (both the same no. and framed ) which when youthink he's stuff is going for £30,000 at sotherbys is an amazing price

Arnt the pieces selling at Sotheby's for 30k originals, and the heads editions of errrm, 75 i think?
which makes them incomparable in price?
