Who knows? I do know there is a lot of kind hearted people out there with a few quid to spare for artists and causes they like and have empathy for. Not all rich folk are selfish. Anyway I'm out now. to make you feel better, i was able to submit enquiry 20 minutes before it "sold out" & i don't even think i got the print.

 Castle gallery is just a business and Gonefellow is just marketing. Any niche business that finds itself in a position to be able to profit from a situation will do so.

   There is so much fake bullshit posted on this forum bigging up stuff that people have a vested interest in protecting.

 Looks to me like the sales pitch or hook is because gonefellow took the banksy truck image and re worked it with probably photo shop. Then the image was deliberately hyped up on some of these urban art blogs. The mystery behind gonefellow and the hype enabled people to believe that maybe banksy or someone from banksys circle or team is gonefellow, which in turn switches on peoples flip genes and modifies their behaviour as they see the potential future profit. It's nothing to do with the art or the image.

 The gonefellow truck or banksy truck that gonefellow hijacked then re sold is just that. The rude farmer looks like a quickie, sort of lets do a rude farmer parody of rude copper and sell it to rude farmers mates. Plus some hangers on who want to be part of a clique.

 Making it for charity always works as it's also good marketing for an artists to release a print for charity regardless of the intentions behind it. 

 In the minds of some the rude farmer print has some sort of cult status. 

Whether there is any connection between banksy and gonefellow doesn't mean a lot considering banksy has been one big hype train from the beginning. Gonefellow art just trying to ride on the back of banksy's anonimity to me.

The other factor is that there does not seem to be anywhere to see any art by Gonefellow apart from three or four image son his instagram.
  
 The line about he is graphically a competent artist so he must be somebody touted by some is absurd. There are millions of graphically competent artists out there plus as banksy says himself in the past, it's easy when you use a projector.

   Castle gallery sells and deals in banksy art, so can sell gonefellow to banksy buyers and let the buyers believe what they want.

 Modern multiples made prints for Warhol and Banksy I think hence the extra kudos in saying gonefellow printed by modern multiples.

  If it's OK for gonefellow to re hash the banksy truck then I guess it's OK for another artist/s to rehash any gonefellow print. Sort of put a couple of X's on the carton for eyes on the box head print, kaws style or some other re hash.

In the end it's just marketing and morons aplenty buy into marketing.

Quick one for you? Why does gonefellow's art bother you? Why do you care about a rehash of Banksy work? It doesn't seem to bother Banksy. So why you?

People are only buying Gonefellow on the chance it might be Banksy because let's be honest as an artist he makes Jboy look like Picasso.
Therefore people will only sell if this conspiracy eithier gets proven or disproven, or perhaps gains enough traction that it manages to push prices up enough to make large profits.
