Lots of chatter about Gonefellow is Banksy. Surely some buy gf prints based on that speculation. The gallery is representing two anonymous artists. Maybe the gallery doesnt know the artists true identities, but maybe the gallery can set the record straight. I think people want clarity. Imagine if they confirmed GF is in fact Banksy...i don't see that happening. On the flipside, if they confirm they are two independent and unrelated artists...well then GF needs to stand on his own. That being said, im not sure it's their responsibility if their niche is repping anonymous artists. No gallery (especially a reseller) represents banksy and i would say there is 99.99% that he knows f**kall what a gonefellow is

Yeah it's hard because text is not always read in the writers tone but the readers and the Screen in which people put their views through can be viewed as bulletproof glass.
I'm all for positivity but I also realise the most beautiful flowers and the most delicious vegetables are fertilised with manure of some sort.
Anyway enough rambling it's the morning after here now I'm feeling quite delicate but happy new year people stay safe.

Then in summary to your questions posted in the very first place, and to end this thread, it should be clear to you that gf is no banksy. And no, his works will never be more valuable than banksyโs, not even the latest hotshot invader. But he probably do have a niche following of collectors who will snap up anything he releases - then again many artists also sell out their prints these days so it doesnโt mean they are at the level of banksy. And if you wanted a piece by gf ( which is the whole purpose of this thread), have you tried posting โart wantedโ for a long enough time for someone to respond?
Edit*** actually i can see all your 18 posts are on this same thread, so I donโt suppose you have put up any art wanted at all yet. So given that you havenโt tried that avenue, Iโm not sure how you came to the conclusion itโs tough to track a gf print down even after that long a time.

Im not into promoting artists it's not my area of expertise. I'm looking at the question from a logical standpoint by asking the possible motives of promoting an unknown artist. There always has to be a motivation and from what I can ascertain it doesn't seem to be money, there are scores of artists with established fanbases/following that CG could represent very easily and make more money. I can assure you that I come to this discussion without any motives or agendas.

Thanks. As I said on the other thread, no one on here is, as far as Iโm aware, suggesting that Gonefellow is Banksy. Those vehemently arguing that he isnโt are arguing with no one.
I bought this piece as I like it and it has particular sentimental attachment for me.
You say itโs unoriginal. I see it as a homage to (perhaps a parody of) one of Banksyโs greatest images. I expect (but cannot profess to know) that it was done with the greatest of respect to Banksy.
