Rude Farmer up for sale.
Unsigned, edition of 100.
Received it, put it in the portfolio, recently back in the tube as moved and portfolio has now gone.
It won't make the wall and I don't want it left sitting in the tube so inviting offers.
Asking for offers as I have been out of the loop for a while and I have no idea what to ask for it.
If you're keen please drop me a PM.
(Pics on request if required, its mint condition, just don't want to be taking it in and out of the tube if not required)

Although I take no interest in the artist in this case, I'm always keen to study and discuss framing styles.
Quality of craftsmanship aside, what your piece emphasises to me is a need for caution β especially if collectors are seduced by the idea of consistency, or if they have a one-size-fits-all approach in their framing decisions. A style which complements a specific print won't necessarily work with another.
Here, we have a delicately drawn image with fine lines, in a composition also featuring a great deal of negative space. And to my mind, that image is somewhat drowned out by the framing (an effect which becomes more apparent if viewing from a slight distance).
The specific issue is the impact of the frame when combined with the choice of mount. Proportionally, it creates a large black mass. This overwhelms the artwork for me, drawing my eye away from it.
I previously made comparable comments in a separate post from 2016.

Both artworks are in mint condition never framed and stored flat, in fact Boxhead I haven't even unpacked. It was delivered flat and has remained sealed in it's packing.

Those interested in these pieces know what they look like but if you want pictures PM me and I'll unpack it and email you what you need. I would prefer to sell the two together but if that doesn't work I will consider separating them.
