Gonefellow 🇬🇧 Print Release • Street Art • Art For Sale, by Happy Shopper on Jan 4, 2019 14:37:45 GMT 1, I love a three wheeled Furgie! It's funny that your very first post on this forum was to defend another Gonefellow release... and at the same time made reference to tractor wheels! Almost like you knew this print was coming?
has the hype tractor lost a wheel ? Funny that you mention it. The tractor wheels look great.

Yes sir, this print was released back in august if i remember correctly.
Edit: and not defending as such. Just stating that most comments were rude and negative and no way near as civilized as we can discuss things now.

And I assume to people fairly close to the artist or gallery, as there's been no mention of it by anyone anywhere until this thread!?

So now we're getting more facts about this print. Released back in August! And I assume to people fairly close to the artist or gallery, as there's been no mention of it by anyone anywhere until this thread!? I am not sure if this was released to people close to the artist. But certainly close to the gallery. I've dealt with CastlegalleryNI over many times and have been doing so for years. I've bought with many galleries and will continue to do so. Again: My personal reason for buying art is because i like an image/piece and i can afford it. In retrospect i think the quiet release was a good call. No flips and no 'hype' was created by artist or gallery on the release. It was simply offered, nothing more nothing less. And people who bought have been keeping quiet and enjoying their art for nearly half a year already. I would imagine that buyers who bought for the hype or wanted to flip would have spilled the beans much earlier. Makes me to believe that the buyers are genuinely interested in his art. The whole thing on this forum did not kick-off until someone thought it was wise to post. But i think all has been discussed in length now. I would like to add one more thing; I do like the way this thread turned around and at this point i find it is a good discussion instead of a battering. Perhaps we can turn things round and make this the forum it used to be. Thank you.

And I assume to people fairly close to the artist or gallery, as there's been no mention of it by anyone anywhere until this thread!? I am not sure if this was released to people close to the artist. I would imagine that buyers who bought for the hype or wanted to flip would have spilled the beans much earlier. Makes me to believe that the buyers are genuinely interested in his art. I'm sure there's also a clever phycology to releasing a quite expensive print this way. Buyers feel it's special, and therefore more willing to pay for the privilege. It also implies there's something special about this artist or print... whether there is or not, who knows!?
I don't think I've ever seen a new artist, with no known history or shows, sell prints so easily, and with nearly all Banksy parody images! It's confusing to me.

“ confusing “ : That’s why it’s good because confusing. Art is not only a beautiful picture/canvas/drawing/print but all that is going with or around ... The story of an artwork, its artist ( how when ) are sometimes more interesting than the artwork itself : what would be certain old or not masterpieces without any mystic or anecdotes around ?
Anyway I prefer this kind of history/mystery than the the very agreed and clean/clinical shows or artworks as ... with champagne, cheese and congratulations all over the gallery per example .. well, just saying , you know, my friend ..

I’m just saying that each artwork has his own history and that is good to know it. I had no pretiousness. Just posting.. I’m not an art critic.

Dear Dear it’s not hard it was obviously to copy the Banksy Dumbo release. That was done to close collectors and not many pictures of the piece ever released etc.
So it is daftly playing on that which is obviously part of the Gonefellow fun.
You guys are taking it all far too seriously. Also re the price regardless of the rights or wrong Castle did not hassle anyone to buy it. He Just put it out to his Banksy buyers.
Now those who buy Banksys off him are not short of a bob or two. It was s nice small release. A cool piece so some bought some didn’t.
That’s it really.

I don't think I've ever seen a new artist, with no known history or shows, sell prints so easily, and with nearly all Banksy parody images! It's confusing to me. More power to anyone or gallery that can sell something like this in that manner. I think many of the reasons of this thread are exactly why they didn't make it a public release. I doubt it was because it was actually linked to Banksy and needed to be hush hush. Its pretty obvious what the intentions look like, but not sure what they actually where as I don't know either party, Artist or gallery.
Ive seen many of this time and time again in this forum specifically, its its own anomaly. Outside this forum people have no clue who these artists are. I am curious to know if there is actually a real artist behind the work or if it was someone who was hired to take someones direction and illustrate it. I could see that happening as the formula is here in the forum for this to take place. Not bashing the art or artist if there is one, but I see original works and drawings from reputable established artists selling for less than one of these prints in an edition of 25. Thats the absurd part always to me.
If they actually did sell for 1500 which not many people have confirmed or shown proof then that would be a total sellout of 37,500. I think a similar original drawing would fetch probably 500-1000. Not saying this artist does sell drawing for that rate but I could get a drawing of same caliber by a reputable artist for that price. So for you beginners out there who are trying to make sense of what HYPE is and how much value it is. This is a lesson for you. Also Look at the investment 500-1000 could get you for a one of a kind drawing versus something of this nature.
Anyone know what originals sell for of this artist? Are they in the 37,500 range for a drawing?

Gonefellow 🇬🇧 Print Release • Street Art • Art For Sale, by Deleted on Jan 5, 2019 11:25:59 GMT 1, My 2 cents on this.. Andy / Castle . Great guy and gallery. Haven’t bought from him (yet) but he’s always offered informed advice without expecting a sale . His banksy knowledge is obviously excellent.
This image - for me it’s just very bad in both concept and delivery. I personally like parody truck . The other gonefellow pieces are weak.
Still no need for people to being all gnarly about the release. Count yourself lucky you didn’t get offered if you don’t like the print.

I don’t think anyone’s got any more “gnarly” about the print than you just did! 😅

Gonefellow 🇬🇧 Print Release • Street Art • Art For Sale, by minibear on Jan 5, 2019 13:02:14 GMT 1, My 2 cents on this..
Andy is a most excellent fellow and had nothing but great dealings with him.

And there was me thinking I’d delivered a fair and considered opinion 😂

Gonefellow 🇬🇧 Print Release • Street Art • Art For Sale, by lorraballs on Jan 5, 2019 14:11:35 GMT 1, Charlatans are often well received, for a while. There have been many of them on here. Free diamonds. Cheap prints. Bullshit giveaways. Backdoors. Fakes. Hype. I like to think some point them out, not because of jealousy, of fomo on profit. Rather, because of a love of art, its myriad manifestations and the pleasure it can bring. Art is not subjective as Met explained with erudition some time ago. Art is something that people study for years, lifetimes. It can be all absorbing, it can comfort, explain, represent. Mapplethorpe took photographs. Cartier-Bresson took photographs. Brooklyn Beckham took photographs. If you bought this, well, congratulations, you own a Brooklyn Beckham.

Gonefellow 🇬🇧 Print Release • Street Art • Art For Sale, by rbk on Jan 6, 2019 4:06:27 GMT 1, I purely like the fact that we are on page 6 of this thread now! 😂 Same as that outis thread years ago.. all about profit and people wanting in to make money 👍 then get aggrieved when they miss out.
Lol so who is trying to make money. Castle sold to a small list after production.
How many have been flipped......”0” as far as I know. Now some t**t might but I doubt most will.
It’s only reference is by those who did not buy.
Otis was a propaganda promotion this has been a bit like the Banksy Dumbo. Offered bought and that’s it.

Gonefellow 🇬🇧 Print Release • Street Art • Art For Sale, by Sweet Fanny Adams on Jan 6, 2019 11:56:09 GMT 1, 0 are flipped because they are not flippable, not collectable by anyone with 2 braincells, and see’s through this tripe. What are the odds that another one of Andy’s “dublin based” mates win the competition?
