I have loved the Smiths for most of my life.
For much of that they have been my favourite band.
Their first LP came out when I was 16 and it spoke to me.
I still think their music is unsurpassed in the indie scene.
The lyrics are beautiful and Marrโs riffs are exquisite.
I have to reconcile that adoration with the shit I now hear from Morrissey.
And thatโs a real struggle.

I can still easily say I adore the Smiths music.

Big fan of Marr as a human, guitarist and frontman. Sound guy, very down to earth and always good about meeting fans. Have seen him live 5 or so times, a great gig always guaranteed. Always plays a few Smiths numbers! Hereโs a tune for ya!

Feel sorry for the lottery winners, I might set up a Go Fund Me page to help them out.

It's different if you're just making art for your own pleasure or you're detained in an institution somewhere. But if you're putting your work out there, I think it requires a certain degree of courage. If you're sincere about it, your art is like an extension of yourself. A window into your thoughts, feelings, and how you see the world. To open yourself up to criticism of that, can often be quite scary. You're saying 'Here's something I have made. Something that I value. I hope you will like it, that something about what resonates within me, will also resonate within you. Like a dialogue of emotion. And I hope that you will value it in the same way that I do. Particularly to the tune of ยฃ350. And with that in mind, I truly hope that not a single person buys this print.
