And I am happy with my farmer which I would sell only if I am going to buy a new gonefellow. I'm not a compulsive collector. I do have the one print per artist policy (which I did break only to buy a second pose.) Plus, it would have been a crazy move. As those who got a 75ed. of the graffiti truck probably got this 100ยฃ /100ed print also. So I know 99% it is not going to happen. But you never know.. maybe someone passed on this one and wouldn't mind a swap plus some cash in Do you know the value of the Signed truck ? You can't imagine. The signed Farmer will take astronomical prices. Anyway, nobody will sell these prints. Did you read the COA on the wood ?

I don't really care - but the issue I think people may have with you is your attempting to leverage something you don't have in your possession for something else - treating this work of art like a commodity instead of what it was intended for. You came to a community of (mostly) purist who appreciate the art for exactly what it was intended for - a "one of these things is not like the others" scenario. You were lucky enough to get the privledge of owning this work , maybe you come off as unappreciative ?

ok, appreciate your explanation.
Probably I was a bit naive and apparently I was (and still am) totally underestimating the value people put on that print.. (hence, a commodity)
Still, I might not agree with the defition of "purist appreciating art for what it is" as probably everyone in this forum is selling/buying art, making it a commodity - although this might piss people off.
Anyway, I really don't want to get in any debate here. That is not why I am here.
I am here just to learn and discuss art more than embrace the "who flips what" mantra or make sarcastic comments.
Truly sorry if I offended anyone, I just wanted to buy a print I liked.

There is an inclination by some to propagate a myth that B wants to deliver adfordable artwork to the masses - bollocks - gone are the days where B delivers affordable art. There are very few that would actually retain it and cherish it....the rest would do what they always have and flip thes**t out of it
Too many artists are accused of being banksy and too many still believe Mr Brainwash, Hijack, Outis, JBoy, Gonefellow.....and some f**ker giving out dodgy bits of cardboard at a Bacardi do are all banksy - and there's no need to prove it is, no, in an ironic twist of fate everyone of them is very likely banksy unless you can prove it isn't XD

First off, the PDSA charity donation, just a brilliantly humble thing to do, Respect
It's as close as I would get to owning a rude copper, and it's such a quirky piece that pretty much sums up more than a few world problems right now........ and it's 2016 in a nutshell.
Respect to Mr Gonefellow and Mr farmer
(Ps: Anybody that flips this for profit has no morals whatsoever and you should be f**king ashamed of yourself)

Could you imagine an instant that Banksy could be one of these And/or Lonelyfarmer/Fragile/Banksy/Wiz ?! La " paire " again ?! A trio ? The quatuor ? Or only one man ? A one man show and his mates ? Etc .. to declinate ... My post is confusing but Banksy is confusing since so many years too , and LF, WIZ and Fragile too ! In fact, you know That ..,, you don't know. For me there is no doubt. Banksy won't make any more prints, but is sponsoring Gonefellow And maybe some others, so Gonefellow is Banksy ! Edit : Please don't make any comparison with some other artists plagiaring the boss, as Outis , jboy, etc .. we all know their real name and they never called their artworks " parody " They just copying mr B. Conclusion : Gonefellow is Banksy ( i have answered to the prior question, so could you answer to my questions about LF, Wiz , Fragile etc .. or you are too much afraid to " blocked "' By all of them, including Banksy ? ) Thank you. |
