Chiswick โข Urban Art Auctions ๐ฌ๐ง, by daniel3886 on Sept 9, 2018 13:22:47 GMT 1, The estimate is 18-20k on this piece the starting bid should be ยฃ18k not ยฃ20k. I will raise this with Invaluable first thing Monday and resolve the situation.
Thank you for bringing it to our attention. There are some changes that need to be made thatโs why I hadnโt publicised the links to the sales.

Depends on the data pull from the Chiswick database...but from experience of working with invaluable thisโll just mean the vendor nets minimum 20ยฃk. Minimum successful bid canโt be above the low estimate otherwise this lot would be an auditors dream.

Anyone thinking to bid would do well sending a few pics to Orbi just to check.
If they are legit the estimate on Ohh Alright is enticing to say the least

The employee. As with all works buyers must satisfy themselves with the provenance for any piece theyโre considering bidding on and bid accordingly. All these lots are clearly marked โoutside of the editionโ these works will be on view at Chiswick from this Saturday buyers are encouraged to come and view in person any lots theyโre considering. I will be there on Saturday myself.

Just looks too clean, but at the same time missing detail!

For your house to offer this form of provenance only after a bidder has won an item requires the bidder to gamble on the outcome.
The letter you, and indeed potential bidders truly need is one from senior management stating that the prints were gifted to the employee.
If there is a problem with the provenance consigners are not paid for 28 days post sale so there is a window for a winning bidder to undertake any further work if they choose to do so.

Chiswick โข Urban Art Auctions ๐ฌ๐ง, by daniel3886 on Sept 11, 2018 15:57:53 GMT 1, No any bidder is entering a legally binding contract to purchase the lot at hammer plus all applicable fees.
If new information comes to light post sale that alters our view of the provenance then that will be investigated and our bid department will take what it feels to be the appropriate and correct action.
We are a business that cares about its reputation and will act accordingly at all times. I hope this addresses your concerns.

If was to bid 20k on the Donuts (as an example) and win with that bid, what would be the total price i would end up paying?
Same goes for selling, if the hammer price is 20k. As a seller, what would i ultimately walk away with?

As a buyer it will be the hammer price plus their commission (normally about 20 to 25%, but check with the auction house) and the shipping, which can be very expensive, collect if you can.
As a seller if you sell for 20k, its 20k less your sellers commission, again you will have to haggle with the auction house before you consign. They can also charge extras for catalogue fees etc, do check before consigning.
There is a few threads on this somewhere.

Thanks. So hammer price + 25% commission. Is that all inclusive of vat?

Bought ยฃ20k
Buyers Fee @25% = ยฃ5,000 Vat on buyers fee @20% =ยฃ1,000
If you were Bidding using saleroom or similar add another 3% = ยฃ600
Vat @20% =ยฃ120
Artist resale . 4% = ยฃ800
So in answer the question I think if your winning bid was ยฃ20,000
Total payable would be between ยฃ26,800 and ยฃ27,520
someone else can do the seller bit as my kettle has boiled
