The standard being "Yeah its legit mate cos my mate knew this guy that worked at the printers and he said it was plus i know my shit and this is a real Banksy, anyway what would you know. you either
a) know 100% ( this affects original buyer only)
b) were told something as part of the sales process( everyone down the chain)
the person in position a) is now in a difficult situation, as although he know the backstory & knows the seller/originator first hand , it is not in any way documentable or verifiable electronically . He may know 100%, but its not enough to sell in most cases.. so he has an image that he may not normally be able to access , but for pennies (relative).
person in b) cannot do anything either and crucuially, doesnt even have the confidence that he is holding something by Banksy
most stuff out there is b)
its about trust and on this board, there is maybe a couple of people who i would trust. at best

I just think that with the multitude of wcp replicas knocking about, if a print was stuck down it probably wouldn't be difficult to pass off as a BD print. But if a seller was prepared to remove the print from the frame then you could at least cross off that particular concern. Unless it was a wcp bd of course.

You say that, but people do buy them, and then sell them. I don't understand why there is a market for these over around ยฃ50, but then there is quite abit I don't understand |

I think this is more attractive than a fake or wcp copy because you are getting the genuine article and a print possibly as good to look at as any in the numbered editions.
