I mean, didnโt Jay Joplin at White Cube do the same thing with the Mugrabi family to fix the Hirst market? The bid works up at auction to fix the market when they had a basement of unsold Hirts paintings?
Regardless of the practice at Kordansky, I do think Jonas Wood paintings are unique. I have seen a room of them on a trip out to the west coast a while back and they really are something else. I like that flat art style and I love his interior paintings. The flower pots? Not so much.

This is true, I have a close friend work at Kordansky, last show of JW they do not sold one single paint to private collectors, only museum or foundation.. this winter he will have a show at Gagosian, same story there... voilร , no works available from primary source, ergo, astronomical secondary market prices!
