D*Face Show in Paris, by Howard Johnson on Mar 22, 2018 17:40:01 GMT 1, Lifetime fan, current hater. Beyond the backroom of the LA show, I was not impressed with the direction of his recent show whatsoever. Same thing. Over. Over. Over. We get it, love is like a horror movie.
Alas....the announcement gives me hope. The collage style is somewhat fresh, and I like the messy mishmash of his his different work (Flutterdies, Lichtenstein, book dfacing). I'll reserve judgement for now but I really really hope we see a new direction with this one. Hes to talented of an artist to be dfacing Lichtenstein for the rest of his career.
Also, if I may make another suggestion from the peanut gallery: can we have some mixed media editions? The recent 150 edition prints have gone a bit stale, and dont grab the attention of more seasoned collectors. The HPMS at the misfits show were priced a bit to high IMHO (they are mostly still available I think?). The solution: An edition of 50, some sort of hand embellishments or printed on wood/metal or whatever, and a price point around 1.5k. These would fly off the shelves, just saying.

"From his upcoming exhibition".
I expected it to be a smaller rehash of the LA show, which I didn't see so I'd be happy with that. The tray image though makes me think that there might be a few more new works mixed with some from 'Happy Never Ending'.
And if we're requesting prints... I love the 'Slave To Your Selfie' image so, I'll take one please! Agree with you on that point of a smaller edition, although would be nearly impossible to get hold of I think.

There will probably be a print associated with the show, but driving on a whim of something that may or may not be revealed is a risk. You said you've been looking for a print and haven't gotten lucky in a year, but you're not interested in the last 2 prints which are selling at cost typically and in your price range. |

In prevition, the will sell two different print at 60โฌ/each, anf if it is not sold out, they sell online the next day. But i think they sell all for the vernissage.

He did post yesterday that he will be painting a wall again. It's probably the small wall outside the entrance but hopefully it's a big one like 'Love Won't Tear Us Apart'.

Yea I saw the "Date With Death" selling near cost on ebay which is unheard of for DFace. Hopefully he comes with the heat this time.
