( ยฃ9 for a small book and some stickers ) The bad vibe must have directed my Bankksy Grannies e-mail to spam quarrantine ( that is inded where it ended up ) I am sure I checked the news section on POW and went off to work about 9ish completely oblivious that a feeding frenzy was brewing in the world of street art. Got home late after going to pick up my Dog Save the Queen canvas from the D-Face exhibition, spent some time hanging it on the wall and then switched on my computer again AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
I am either gonna unblock all spam ( haven't had any probs with POW being spammed before ) or resort to taking my mac to work and buying one of those Vodaphone internet access anywhere cards.......( not really )
My email was send out about 4am so based on the posts that I have read next time anyone who gets up and checks their mail in the morning should be OK. I was surprised that the prints were so cheap......I mean to say which banksy's go for only ยฃ200 unsigned and ยฃ500 signed on e-bay? I know alot of people cannt afford more but i am sure a lot of people are buying because they are cheap and not because they can really afford them.

I religously check POW most days throught the day, now today, just so happened to be working out of the office - in LONDON (so close but yet so far), and all this happens.
This is my favourite of the new ones, as it has the classic banksy off the wall humour in it.
Gutted.

the problem is simply supply and demand! too much demand, and too little supply.
you might think you've been hard done by because you didn't get one. what if you had got one? would you feel the same? what about people who have no internet access? what about people who don't have credit cards or ยฃ200 spare? what about Mongolian yak herders?
and who are 'true' fans and who aren't?
Good idea mate. Will be mailing POW thats for sure and telling them of my displeasure. Others should do so as well. Maybe they will listen and give us all a chance.

also i think the order button kept reappearing for some people after the print sold out, so quite a few orders went through which had to be cancelled.

but over the next few hours some people said that they could still order... sometimes, after refreshing, it would let you buy.... several hours later and the site was still really struggling to cope.... then they took the grannies link etc off the site (probably to stop so many people clicking on it!)......
I doubt steph has hardly been able to breath today. ;D I certainly won't be saying hello to her for several days (i obviously mean that in the nicest possible way - she will be swamped I imagine and deserves a bit of breathing space!)
despite all the 'problems' today I can swear that the people at POW do work REALLY long hours and really do care about it all! They are often in during the evening and weekends when they really shouldn't be.

the website news does say these prints will all be sold online rather than on the phone (maybe that doesn't def stop them being sold at SG but can u imagine the trouble it would cause....)

Amen! I think POW does the best job they can. From everything I hear, the employees work very long hours and deal with crazies like Banksy's fan all day.
I didn't get a Grannies - would have loved to. My only concern is the timing as when they become available. Is it geared towards the UK, or a time in which both fans from the US & UK are more prone to be up. I got to work at 8am and the prints had already sold out. I also checked my email before going to bed. My POW newsletter came in at 3:34am. Seeing as we think that the prints sold out in a 30-60 minutes - barely any American collectors even had a chance :-( My gripe isn't that I didn't get a Grannies - just want the same chance as you UK blokes.

Exactly Martin, all the story of tracking the ebay back and cancel his order is pure bulls**t....
The point is only one: Banksy is the best horse of the POW stable, and what happened yesterday is just unbelievable - not even the hottest IPOs in the stock market sell out so quickly....  ... and my impression is that even at double the prices, the items would have sold within the hour anyway....
Asking to track back the guy, cancel his order and spank his a** because he is not a "real Banksy fan" (at least, try to give a good definition of this) is a little bit too much and, to me, sounds also a little bit stupid, against the market rules, and it is the market (and, speaking clearly, EBay as well, don't look at it as the bad devil) which promoted Banksy to a internationally known artist.
On my side, I managed to get an unsigned one, and I am looking forward to hang it on my wall together with the other things I have... Having said that, everything has a price, and if in a few months there is still crazyness in the market, I can't esclude I will try to sell it.... Otherwise, it will show itself proudly on the wall for years!!! ;D
