I love Ardif and have his gold turtle babel ed of 30 framed (and paid way too much to get it done correctly too) and on the wall of my sitting room. But even I struggle to imagine 550 as the going rate.

Hell there's one on ebay for 385 right now.

Replacement Coa came in similar packaging with similar damage. Was given instant refund so can't fault them on that but definitely not worth the premium. On hindsight it's a bit of a farce/rip-off having to pay for a physical COA when buying from source. Feels like having to buy a charger when buying a new phone haha #stevejobs

I know we hear this a lot (and I’m sure I’ve probably said it before) but reluctant sale with this one however my wife doesn’t like the image and I’ve made enough rogue art purchases that have made the wall that I think I’ve pushed my luck as far as it’s going to go so, after 8-9 months sitting on it, it’s time to see this go to a home where it can be enjoyed. 

For me, I think that this particular Endian variant is one of the nicest redux images that were released. As many will know, I’m a huge fan of his work and this was a really interesting new direction for him. I’ve put “or best offer” as I am quite keen for quite a quick sale but, for full transparency, the movement on this price will not be more than £100 - 200 max and a U.K. sale would be preferred.

I’ve attached images below from when it arrived and a couple of quick ones I took from the archival sleeve it has been stored in since arriving. I can update these with better images if required. Print will be sent rolled in original tube and with corresponding COA.

Welcome to the forum jaredscott and always pleased to chat with a fellow Fin Dac fan. My honest advice to you would be to buy whatever you’re most drawn to. Most collectors will naturally gravitate towards smaller editions, hand finished works or originals (if budget allows). Historically Fin hasn’t had many gallery shows so originals are, generally speaking, quite hard to come by. As @dmatt said, there are a few original works which went unsold from his recent ‘Afterglow / Undertow’ show with West Contemporary but you’re going to have to have quite deep pockets to buy these. There were some smaller (and cheaper) original works and 1/1 prints but these were all sold before or during the show.

Fin’s works does crop up on the secondary market and prices vary quite considerably depending on the image. I am personally more drawn to his “Geishas” and less to some of his earlier work and these are, generally speaking, his more popular and higher priced images on the secondary. Again though, prices vary depending on the piece.

As I say, especially as a new collector, I would really buy pieces that speak to you, particularly as you’ll be paying a premium on the secondary market to pick them up. I do think there’ll be a print release at some stage this year but it does feel like Fin is exploring new directions with his work so I’m not really sure what this may look like yet. It’d be worth keeping tabs on his social media and being on the mailing lists for West and Graffiti Prints as they’re who he releases prints with here in the U.K.

From April 8th we will show “Mixed Reality” with works by FinDAC, SKIO and Vermibus. We are very happy to have new works by FinDAC on display, and also to present with SKIO and Vermibus two new, very exciting artists. In their artworks all artists deal with beauty, aesthetics and their perception in our society.

Mixed reality encompasses environments or systems that mix the natural perception of a user with an artificial perception. This sounds a bit like science fiction. But if you look at the term in a less technical way, you quickly realize how intensively we are already confronted with mixed realities. Media, the tremendous flood of information made available to us by the Internet and of course social media put to the notion of what really is to test almost daily.

Nothing is as it seems
The three artists in the show “Mixed Reality” deal with these mixed realities. In his collages, FinDAC indeed shows “torn” protagonists, while combining different versions of the same thing. In doing so, he questions sexual stereotypes and colonial perceptions. SKIO observes everyday life becoming increasingly virtual due to the growing dominance of social media. In his paintings, he examines the uniformity that our society imposes on people and the demand for beauty that is imposed on women in particular. Vermibus also deals with ideals of beauty shaped by society and the media. He humanizes his previously de-personalized models by literally dissolving them and thus offers a sharp social criticism of the advertising and fashion industry.



On display are collages, paintings and analog manipulated photographies.
