Mine's been "in transit to the destination" from Heathrow since 29th March. I figured I might be getting a customs bill before they deliver it.

Β£95 less Β£12 PF charge x 5/20 = Β£20.75 and add back the charge = Β£32.75.
Oneβs been done at 5% and one at 20%
Lucky you, no need to claim the 15%

There is also a thread on here about how to claim back .. It generally works but can taked several weeks if you're lucky!!

if you are making a claim on customs you'll have to remove that label and include in claim. Take a copy in case your letter gets lost.
customs can sometimes try and deny claims if paperwork not filled in correctly. add as much information as possible...

In order to avoid shenanigans, HMRC apply the relevant vat rate to the whole price, shipping and all when they calculate the charge .
Seems a bit unfair as shenanigans could occur on the first example
Also seems a bit excessive that Parcelforce charge Β£12 for processya payment when those customs paid parcel travel scot free.
