As a collector with a huge amount of art, printed on a variety of paper, I can state 270gsm velin is nowhere near thick enough for this size of print. It is absolutely not down to the printing process as you so naively quote. It is, very simply down to the paper quality and or thickness.. Old banksy prints suffer from this rippling because they were printed on cheap paper, stik prints ripple because they were printed on cheap paper.. No high quality, expensive prints suffer from this rippling anymore because printers know the right paper for each printing process.. I recently framed a HF meadow and after one week took it off the wall as it looked bloody awful and was rippling horrendously. I actually don’t mind the old prints being on this paper but the new ones should have been printed on much better quality paper to match the price tag! The Forest seems even flimsier than the rest. I got have hirsts, millers, retnas printed on 400gsm and the difference in quality is huge!! You think the reason they printed on Velin 270gsm is because it’s cheaper than 400gsm stock?!

The “horrendous ripples” you’re naively complaining about are an inevitable result of this particular printing process - which often also includes dampening of the paper before printing - not the stock.
I wonder why they didn't use Velin in 300gsm or 400 though?
It is unusual I think to use such a light weight stock on a print so big.
I just received a much smaller screen print on 220 and that's super thin!

Can that not be on slightly thicker paper? I'd have thought it would help with an etching.
