If you have ever been in any of Portman's buildings you know he was one of the most future thinking modern architects of the 70's/80's. Way more than graphic design to me and I'm an Art Director.

The blockprint image is the best of them by a very large margin IMO. When I heard they were releasing Modern Living this is the only image I had in mind. Using yellow for the sky completely changes the image and makes it pop. The wood frame has far more detail. The text of "Modern Living" is more prominent as well. The screen print is a huge disappointment. It reminds me of what they did with Fight Vanity several years ago. They should have done a small run of the block print image for a much higher price. That would have been my first Faile purchase since 2008.

Completely agree with this statement. Sometimes I have to question their choice of images though. The last few have been a little off for me. Maybe I just like the deep cuts a little more than the hits.

I have fresh painted half inch white wooden spacers and a freshly painted black gallery frame. I plan to float mine with a 1.5 inch border all around. Will try to get the framing done on Monday and will post the results here.

I received the shipping confirmation about 30 minutes after I purchased the print. They shipped it using FedEx ground. I live in Vermont.....so not so far away. |

I suspect the charge is 5% VAT + handling charge
Yu can set up an account for free with FEDEX and attach a credit card to it
That way when the item comes in you avoid the handling fee

I was just kinda surprised, as I've bought things that have been a lot more and not encountered any fees at all. In the grand scheme of things, it's not very much money. Thanks...given that I work in a Museum and do all the framing for them I'd hope I did a decent job. I use all the traditional materials, cook my own wheat paste and use Japanese mulberry paper for the hinges. Below are all the tools and materials set up before the framing was done. |

Thanks...given that I work in a Museum and do all the framing for them I'd hope I did a decent job. I use all the traditional materials, cook my own wheat paste and use Japanese mulberry paper for the hinges. Below are all the tools and materials set up before the framing was done.
Not too many framers out their making their own wheat paste. Great to see this level of professionalism.
