Besides that, what is the work trying to say? I don't understand it by looking at it and haven't researched the meaning.

Wade Guyton ๐บ๐ธ Inkjet Printing โข Digital Painting , by Deleted on May 19, 2018 21:01:08 GMT 1, Thanks for the info. I think itโs pretty interesting, but I agree that framing would be costly and difficult. Where did you see 2k +? Iโm seeing over 5k gbp on auction and a crazy number on the bay. Iโm interested in framing it, just want to be sure Iโm not going to get crushed if I decide itโs just too big.

5kgbp is ridiculous/will never happen

Besides that, what is the work trying to say? I don't understand it by looking at it and haven't researched the meaning. Guyton's practice is almost all about imperfection and a focus on artwork being a record of process. I'd argue the fold lines actually enhance the work.
I find these editions fascinating in that they are the same source image and, it appears, same printer, used in a $2million original. The differences being substrate (linen vs. paper) and that these editioned works do not have the tugging/jamming/manipulations done during the printing process. Instead, their 'hand work' is in the folding process in preparation for packing.
To me, these editions, apparently ending with next year's one, represent pretty substantial bargains in the current market. I think should me more around the approximate $25k one sold for at auction a couple of years ago than at the $2k buy-it-now, or $3k-$7k I've seen them change hands for (for the record, I don't own one, don't have one to sell, had one but sold it, and would like to piece together a complete set one day).
Guyton soared at his mid-career retrospective and has been able to keep the critical acclaim going in the aftermath while introducing new themes into his work (no easy feat). I think he is essential to an understanding of post-2000 contemporary art and his place in art history already assured.
This current work from his NYC show is lustworthy for me:

Cool thanks. I have no intention to flip, and this doesnโt even seem like a great piece for someone to try to flip even if they wanted to. Just worried about the size, framing cost, and significant others opinion when it does arrive. I appreciate the input

Wade Guyton ๐บ๐ธ Inkjet Printing โข Digital Painting , by maxamaxa2 on May 21, 2018 10:05:35 GMT 1, Can you even get a sheet of plexi from a normal framer of this size? Any idea where? Iโm in NYC Yes, if you want glass, Groglass got their Artglass AR 99 Protect that is shatter proof, 4mm, comes in sizes up to 88.5"x126". It will weigh a lot but easier to clean in the long run.
My thought have been to make a huge square hole/compartment in a wall (got wooden walls), hang the print in "clips" attached to wires and then flushmount the glass.
Optium Museum Acrylic goes up to 72"x120", since these are coated on both sides and a little tricky to clean I would say that it only works in a house where kids dont run around touching everything or where the whole thing wont be close to the floor (so, a massive ceiling height would be needed).
If you want to go cheaper I think you could source shatterproof glass with some uv-protection from the construction industry, its very modern with glass walls in offices these days.
Regardless, it will be costly in this dimension, framing the huge print, delivering it and mounting the beast on the wall. ..and remember that you need to fit it thru the door/window, so measure before ordering the framing
I do think this one is the best edition by him so far and will look amazing on the wall! So as long as you are prepared that it will cost you around 1k for the print and about 3k for the framing and think its fair I say Go! Good luck!

Wade Guyton ๐บ๐ธ Inkjet Printing โข Digital Painting , by morange on Jul 10, 2018 7:25:21 GMT 1, Hi, Iโve just gotten my print and trying to get it frame. But my framer says that it is way too big to get it fitted on to their rollers to mount. If hinge, will warped after sometime as it is too big. Any suggestions on how to get it framed would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Have a look at this www.smk.dk/en/explore-the-art/visit-the-conservator/stories-from-the-conservators/fra-rulle-til-vaeg-montering-af-kaempe-papirvaerk/
Donโt know where you are located but there are some great framers working a lot with prints that might be able to help you out.
My thought was as described, to make a cut out in the wall, hang the print in โpaper clipsโ and then put the glass in front. Not sure how doable it is thou.

1. I hung these 4 Gary Hume 1000 Windows just flat onto the wall.
2. Then hung this large wooden frame, glazed with plexiglas but with no backing materials, directly onto the wall, covering the Hume paintings.
These black paintings attract dust and are horrible, dangerous to clean.

Would love one of these at home. Congrats on owning one. I'd buy if off you at cost if you change your mind I have to agree. The work is too great to glue to your wall and put a frame around. I would do everything to find somone who can mount it on some kind of board and frame it simply behind plexi, similar to the instagram picture in this thread. I dont know if you will need UV plexi or what, but as its white linen paper I would think it would probably a good idea. Just confident that once it is done right you will not regret it.

Wade Guyton ๐บ๐ธ Inkjet Printing โข Digital Painting , by purpleandred on Jul 13, 2018 11:50:31 GMT 1, My 2 cents worth
UV acrylic (no glass for obvious reasons) A deep box frame to keep the paper away from the acrylic's static which may "pull" the paper towards it. A subframe at the back for support
How you go about hinging this is another story, I don't quite get how thick the paper stock is.
I would message chr1s on this board as he's super knowledgable about framing. Be sure to let us see the outcome as I am definitely keen on one of these prints.
Good Luck

Wade Guyton ๐บ๐ธ Inkjet Printing โข Digital Painting , by Deleted on Jul 18, 2018 15:50:13 GMT 1, Update friends -
First off, I was lucky enough to finally buy one of these from a friend in NY, so now I'm in the same framing boat.
I tried to shop for framing here in the city, and the issue seems not to be the actual frame, or even the backing (which can be joined as it will not be visible), but the plexi. Apparently there is a plexi-shop on Canal street, so I'll try to find out whats available. I was thinking to basically frame this in a 3" "Shadow Box" using the plexi, so as to keep the plastic off the paper given the enormous size.
If anybody else in NY would be interested in this, please PM me so maybe we can get an economy of scale on the plastic if we buy a few sheets, and then can have the rest done at a local framer -
Also, happy to hear if anyone else has has success framing this !

Wade Guyton ๐บ๐ธ Inkjet Printing โข Digital Painting , by Deleted on Aug 3, 2018 19:09:24 GMT 1, I had no luck finding ANY way to have this framed in NYC. Im thinking a huge shadowbox is the only way, but i'm really hoping to find a way to get it done. Any ideas ? Anybody have any luck ? I can't even find a piece of UV plexi big enough to frame this thing....
