Much like his piece in Barbican isn't ripping off basquiat, it's a tribute I was a aware of the mix of these two photographs (Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima/Rosenthal and Harlem/Eli Reed) but I'm still not sure whether Banksy used these photos "just" for their imagery or also in terms of historical sagnificance. I'm struggeling to find a connection between these photographs which would give the Banksy image a deeper meaning.

On the first sight, the photo is very straightforward but then you see the man with his horse - a great moment of surpise.
It almost feels like a photomontage or collage.
I like the colors of Steve McCurry, dynamism of Trent Parke, mood of Hiroji Kubota but I cannot help the fact that René Burri is my favourite. The Burri photograph is also one of my favorites.

Which one did you get? I have to say, I've always found the quality very good. Rich, full colours and very sharp. Some of the b+w prints I have had look a bit washed out, but usually due to the age of the image rather than the printing (eg the Dennis Stock / James Dean)

The quality isn't too bad but the large border has to be considered
