Damien Hirst H4 • Veils, by touchdowntodd on Aug 2, 2018 20:03:37 GMT 1, Passed, as did 3 or 4 others I know on last week's offer Its jokers like you and your 4 other cronies that hate to miss out on anything so you enter for the sheer hell of it and baulk at payment time. Time wasting doughnuts that merely scupper the opportunity for serious contenders to acquire the piece. Wouldn't surprise me if you regularly get the estate agent round to stroke your ego no matter how big or small your property is without the slightest intention of selling !! Pul the trigger or stop wasting everyones time please.....
Thanks for judging me.. and thinking u know me ... If u knew what happened to me between applying and now, you'd never post things like that.
Sucks this forum is full of judgmental assholes . I can assure you I'm not here to waste time . This is my only application I'd actually sent this year for a piece..
I guess people can't have drastically bad turns in their life without being accused of time wasting. Also, I appreciate the world of people like you that make all art lovers look like total assholes.. thanks, it brightened my day

When you retort with a mere and somewhat blaseé"passed along with 4 others" what else is one to assume ? You're right I don't know you and should events of the last number of days be as serious as you've implied I would suggest skipping social media and focus on real life events as we all know how things can be misappropriated, misconstrued and ill timed on said forums even by the best of us? I apologise if you think I've kicked sand in your face knowing full well that you're suffering and down. I haven't, I've kicked sand in the face of those who time waste without so much as an explanation.

Damien Hirst H4 • Veils, by moron on Aug 3, 2018 12:40:28 GMT 1, I can understand why some people have changed their mind about these prints. There was some sort of rush trying to be created on this forum for whatever reason by some.
The number of different prints produced has increased from when people first decided to go for one.
The prints are just a section or portion of the whole painting and I don't know of any artists that make a limited edition print of part of a painting. I know some will say there are no rules in art etc etc etc but who would want a part of a painting as a print in reality.
On another note, I wonder why Hirst is selling these at the Tate? The Tate is publicly funded and the sale of the prints is a private business. Hirst could have organised to sell these at his Newport st gallery.

He gets to leverage off their reputation, and this promotion/validation adds a certain value to this series.
Kind of messed up thinking that the institution are persuaded by the name and not by the art.

If you talking specifically about painting than fair enough. I though that the main focus is taking a piece of a large OG and releasing it as a print. If the techniques is equally important then fair enough.

Most artists consider it a no no to make a print from part of a painting and sell it. A ltd edition is mean to be an edition which is an exact reproduction of an original painting or a print made in it's own right as a print , etching engraving lino cut etc as an edition and not a copy of any painting.
Where is the value in a print that shows part of the painting?

Tate gets money, Hirst gets associated with Tate brand.
This particular series does not belong in the Tate.
The fact that these are released so soon after H4 adds weight to this. What the hell are they thinking? It leads me to think they're motivated by money. Hirst releasing this Colour Space painting editions through Tate will pay untold dividends for him. He gets to leverage off their reputation, and this promotion/validation adds a certain value to this series. Kind of messed up thinking that the institution are persuaded by the name and not by the art.

Damien Hirst H4 • Veils, by Express Post on Aug 3, 2018 14:04:06 GMT 1, Like it or not, he's reappropriated the works and created something new.
It is what it is, nothing y'all can police or regulate....except not buy into it I guess.

Damien Hirst H4 • Veils, by kuni on Aug 4, 2018 1:02:34 GMT 1, Good recommendation. I’ve listened to a handful of episodes and it’s enjoyable and informative. I like their take on the scene. The 2 part series about selling out and who’s a sell out was interesting and I agree with their basic thesis re: what it means to sell out. Hard to really disagree with Hirst fitting the criteria. I’m writing from the phone so keeping it short for now but I would recommend giving this a listen.
