My gut is that they will sell out quickly. After all it is Damien Hirst.

I like the fact that it is printed on Aluminum rather than paper.

I think the price offers very good value for Hirst and that it is sure to increase quite a bit as time ticks by.

Personally, I'd wait for a print on paper .... the Heni editions I have seen are actually quite flat in appearance up close...
Only plus I can see is you don't need to frame it to hang it on your wall!

a lot of people have had the registration form, but I've not yet heard of many receiving the invoice to actually buy.

I wouldn't want to argue either way for these, as it's a personal decision, and a matter of personal taste, but my thoughts are as follows..

The heni editions are more like art objects than pure prints. Unless directly abused they seem durable and are unique and are technically nice pieces.

Whatever people may think of hirst, he is considered a blue-chip artist.

These are in an edition of 75 not counting the AP's (whatever that means in this context). So, compared to the Richter editions of 500 this is relatively small.

Also these are signed. This is a somewhat big deal since generally they haven't been. To my knowledge this is the first heni Diasec release I have ever seen, signed by the artist

Also, for what it's worth, a larger percentage of people will probably find these prints more palatable than some of his other works. Whatever your opinion on this may be, the reality is that it should tend to translate into higher demand.

I'm not sure why the price seems relatively low considering all of this, including the size which is very nice / larger. Perhaps it's because he's taking a new Direction.

So given all of this I think these will very likely be an extremely good buy, and should appreciate in value significantly. (Also given the track record for past releases.)

I'd also like to say, this is not my primary concern. I'm interested in the Art For Art's Sake as well. But it would be naive to completely ignore.

A lot of antihype and misinformation in this thread, makes me wish I hadn't posted the opportunity in the first place before securing one myself, but does allow you to figure out who you can better trust in the future.

I assume they will be difficult to acquire. Any idea what the odds are of being offered the opportunity to buy?

I said it was just my opinion... and i stand by it. I have seen the Richter's Heni editions ... up close and personal... and I don't like them. I find them to be like shiny posters ... don't mean to offend.

(I was offered these early on form the Serpentine and I said no... still saying pass.)  The Hirst's are a pretty , wall friendly image and I am a Damien fan, but I much prefer the woodcuts from Manifold.

I've also seen them in the flesh. IMO they look good, especially If you stand back from them. Up close they look almost photographic, which for me captures the texture more than a screen print could.
