It IS a lot of money and this forum does have a limited market. I still would like to see this go to someone on this forum rather than auction/gallery. I’ve also had more PMs with more “serious” questions/interest. I’m hopeful this does sell by end of next week.
I'm pretty sure you don't care who gives you the money. If a gallery etc offered you the money you'd hold out for a forum member?
It's a good price, ideal for stateside.

Gallery. Few here have the money. The platform of UAA isn’t best for higher stakes sales. Good luck. If your pricing experience expectations are realistic, you should sell in no time. The only thing that slows down the process is when Gallery asks too much, or if seller consigns with unreasonable expectations on what price they want. If there is no greed from either party should go quick. Good luck.

They’re seen as more trustworthy and out there than random forum users. Also, the forum people aren’t nearly as connected - not even close, to the connections of Sotheby’s, Christie’s and some galleries. You’re interacting and conducting a transaction at a much more elevated level than lowballers here.
Let’s be honest. If he consigns to an auction or gallery there is no way he’s going to clear £40k for himself.

As previously mentioned I have seen NOLA recently well over £40k. I also know you can tell the broker the amount you want to make for a piece and they could be willing to sell for you and keep the difference.

If they’re that sure then they would buy it off you for £39k.
Be fair to yourself. You haven’t even given yourself 90 days to sell it yet. Your best hope for the maximum to yourself is to sell it here privately. It may just be that your expectations are too high at present

Sadly, none. Just an advocate for the entities furthering the arts. Buyin and trading here on UAA doesn’t move the needle one iota. It’s the galleries and museums that are doing the advocacy and cv development. I respect what they do. That’s all.

when the beejoir shell for oil came 12 years or so ago, all those ‘knowledgable’ members where pointing on ebay prices.
i cant believe someone will pay that on ebay for it, blah blah rubbing hands.
repeat until today. No one in their right mind spends 10k in a piece of paper and pretends its for the art. No one.
