Banksy Bomb Middle England Print • 2003 , by johnnyh on Oct 12, 2012 16:11:29 GMT 1, Yes I understand that and their tradeable value whatever that is. My point is there can be an original COA if he still knows his friend as his brother can get one. But point is if I knew they were real regardless of market value I would not sell them for 500 quid to buy an Ian Francis.
I suppose in a sense 0i am asking a question as the initial original post is vague - does he actually believe they are real??
His post says Iwas told they were but he does not sate either way whether he belives if they are real or not. May have done when he bought them - what about now??

Anyone paying £500 for a Banksy print without a number, rock-solid provenance, or indeed a COA needs their head examining.
THIS!

Banksy Bomb Middle England Print • 2003 , by colinfishwick on Oct 12, 2012 21:33:19 GMT 1, Heres an interesting one (or two). Back when I was a novice I bought Bombing Middle England and Weston Super Mere off the brother of a friend of mine. They worked on the Exhibition for Pictures on Walls when these two pictures were sold.
which exhibition was this? if they were given to him by POW then they should have been signed and marked with a heart, the original recipient could still get a PC COA for them.
the fact they're unsigned and unnumbered suggests to me that at best, these are backdoor prints and at worst simply fakes. either way worthless.
please elaborate and provide some pictures for assurance.

This. And IMO you can really tell between the genuine prints to something else. BUT you have to know your stuff. Obv a risk. You have to know some sort of history before you commit.

stretch Pulp Fiction that Laz finally released under the counter, the gold LIITA, there were plenty of interesting backdoor prints back in the day yes but my point remains that these are worthless on the open market due to lack of COA.

Banksy Bomb Middle England Print • 2003 , by iamzero on Oct 13, 2012 11:18:58 GMT 1, Quite clearly not as worthless on the open market these days when everyone wants a piece of Banksy. I guess if you know what to look for in regards to spotting an actual Banksy and not a fake even a backdoor has a price and on the strength of the Warhol arguement will only gain in value.
I'd buy one at the right price and take the punt, maybe not £500 though as I don't know enough about the detail in these prints to spot the difference.

Banksy Bomb Middle England Print • 2003 , by sgunn65 on Oct 13, 2012 11:50:49 GMT 1, For all the conjecture they are what they are. Back door prints do have value. Remember the value of anything is a willing buyer and a willing seller.
The guy who bought them was a willing buyer and I am a willing seller since my tastes have changed and I now want to convert my prints to money for originals. I hope he will be happy with them and the money has gone towards the Holly Thoburn which phearlothing was selling on this site. It will now take its place on my wall and, hopefully, give me years of pleasure.
Thanks for all the interest. I still have alot of prints that I want to sell and will be selling for good prices. I will put the next tranche up tomorrow. Happy hunting
