Banksy • Trolley Hunters, by silvermyn on Jan 3, 2021 13:15:49 GMT 1, There were approximately 100 unsigned examples (printed by MM) released in LA, as well as a small handful that were signed.
Additionally, there were a small number of PP signed sets.
There were no AP's released in LA.
Thanks, I had heard 50 LA signed, but I had been led to believe that included AP and PP's but I think it's fair to say nobody is entirely sure as it was, at best, a little chaotic at the time, apparently. Whilst I am not sure 100% on the existence or otherwise of specific AP's of Trolleys I do 100% know there were 10 AP's and 6 P'P's of Festival and Sale Ends, so I have always been led to believe these were from complete sets? One of the posts from Silvermyn above states he has a signed LA which is from a numbered series of 150?
A catalogue de raisonne for works up to 2020 would be super helpful right now...

Banksy • Trolley Hunters, by JFCC on Jan 3, 2021 13:37:15 GMT 1, Yeah, edition of 6 signed PPs. Mine is definitely a signed LA print numbered in the 30's and is from the edition of 150. Has PC COA so it's legit. I thought that the first 50 fron the edition were all signed but only PC will know for sure. The handful that were signed in LA were indeed numbered xxx/150.
That the first 50 from the edition were signed is untrue.
Interesting to know so in summary the LA series comprises of a small amount signed (I wonder how many) but numbered to 150, 10 P/Ps and 6 A/Ps.

My memories of that time and place are hazy at best though...
I have both a PP and AP from the series hence me being so sure! Sorry I should have said, but I am still very curious about how many signed there actually are!! One of the many mysteries!!!

Banksy • Trolley Hunters, by silvermyn on Jan 3, 2021 13:52:08 GMT 1, I don't think the POW B&W was a 150 run. Modern Multiples produced 100 of each of the Barely Legal prints. I believe 50 were sold signed and the other 50 were unsigned. If that is what happened then the POW signed editions are no more than 100 in total. I have a signed LA version of Trolleys and it's numbered in the 30's out of 150. Sorry, I answered a later post of yours before I saw this one.
Just thought you'd like to know that your signed LA version is a much rarer beast than you think, as I've already stated, only a handful of these (and the other LA editions) were signed.
Did you acquire it directly or secondary?
Thank you, I hadn't realised that fewer than 50 of the LA prints were signed. I literally spent years looking for it so I'm not entirely surprised.
Purchased on the secondary from a gallery in Hollywood USA. I had the signed POW version, coloured, Bethlehem and this LA versions at one point. The LA was the hardest to find and now is the only one left from the collection. Managed to get the MM throwaway that was taped to the box lid of the edition at Barely Legal. They sit side by side now and look great together.

No, I've never been to LA. Bought the throwaway print on that online auction site we're not supposed to mention.
Why do you ask?

Just because I remember the two guys who kept hassling the shit out of me to sell them on the last day of the show.
Can't remember what we let them go for but the crew ate an awful lot of pizza and drank a lot of beer (Brits) and soda (Yanks) with the proceeds that day.
That's brilliant. Squares a circle in some ways.
Well, the seller also had Sale Ends. He seemed like a nice guy and, if memory serves, he said he paid $100 a piece.
I've not even attempted to approach PC about this one. Guessing that it was sold but it wasn't produced for commercial purposes. Still, it is a nice piece and I'm pleased you guys let it escape from the bin

I think we're in the beginning of prices pushing higher. Governments around the world printing money and keeping rates low is going to make the next few years a wild ride.

Would you mind posting an image please?
I see what’s happened here. I read “from the box” to mean from inside of the box (i.e. the editioned print).
The one taped to the box lid was just a throwaway. Mine has a blue circle around the Trolley handles where the colour didn’t quite hit the handles.

Sorry for confusing things there 😃 It's a great and interesting piece to have, especially with the background of how it was purchased originally.

Banksy • Trolley Hunters, by Deleted on Feb 19, 2021 13:24:14 GMT 1, Imagine asking someone who is selling something how much they want for it?!
Actually I've been guilty of this myself but normally an estimate gives people an idea that you're at least in the same ballpark.
Good luck with the sale all the same
