Competition: Pictures On Walls Logo Print, by Winks on Sept 20, 2018 7:33:59 GMT 1, Had to include a new rule, which is Rule F: No asking questions relating to this competition. I am getting quite a few pm's which do not include answers. The rules are fairly simple and self explanatory. Thanks and apologies if this seems a little terse.
3 questions
First, is it 100 posts at the date of this thread or can a lurker post 100 GLWTS and enter?
Second, how do you aim to uncover multiple account entries?
Thirdly, did you disqualify those who PMโd questions as per the competition rules?

Competition: Pictures On Walls Logo Print, by Pysgod on Sept 23, 2018 17:58:09 GMT 1, Too bad you had to turn what was initially an interesting and fun competition into a pointless lesson giving attempt... It was fun, but also quite sad to see no one actually got these relatively easy questions right. It wasn't an veiled attempt to give anyone a lesson, but given your answers were mostly incorrect, you know now when asked these questions next time in the future or at a dinner party, you can speak with absolute knowledge.
Those that know.... have been banned, those that dont....didnt win lol those who really know, are above this fanboy shite.

Mate my answers were indeed incorrect, and I stated I was pretty sure they would be, so was happy to read yours and learn a factoid or two
Encyclopaedic knowledge rarely makes people interesting in any form of conversation, let alone dinner parties.
However it does more often than not make them sound like a dick...and you donโt seem to be an exception

Competition: Pictures On Walls Logo Print, by Lroy on Sept 23, 2018 18:40:38 GMT 1, Disappointingly no winners, as no one got the answers to the correct, only 1 person came even close, and that was Sundowner. If this giveaway was based on likes, there would have probably over 500 entrants. So the answers to the questions are as follows: 1. When was Pictures On Walls created? January 2003, Registered in 2004 (trading as Kindit previously) 2. Who were the original Co-Founders/Creators of Pictures On Walls? Banksy, Steve Lazarides and Steve Parkin 3. Where was Pictures On Walls first ever studio space? Scrutton Street 4. What was Pictures On Walls first ever print show? Santas Ghetto 2003 5. What was Pictures On Walls first ever print? Some said Have A Nice Day, some Bomb Middle England and some said Rude Copper. Rude Copper was printed in 2001 so wasn't technically a PoW print. However, LIITA, Queen Vic, Rude Copper, HAND, Bomb Middle England, and Hewlettโs The Kid were all released online at the same time when PoW first launched in 2003. Screengrab from PoW site when it went live from 2003.
6. What was Pictures On Walls last ever print? Gee Vaucher - Flying High. OK you can all get back to liking the Peckham Postcard, which goes to show how far in knowledge this forum has really slipped over the years. Err .. I am sorry, I just want to speak frankly with honesty.
I really do like this print ( you know it if you are the friend and great collector that I dmed by the past ) as some other members I guess.
This competition was in my brain since the first day and I worked on it until 12pm ( I have sent you the answers at 11am59 ! ). Well I won't post all the links. Just this one as it it is a funny one, back in the year with Silky and Aslbabar talking...
So itโs brutal. Maybe you had not enough members answering, but I have invested a lot, from the deepest of their heart.
Your questions were very serious and also very subjectives, and your answers are not forcely the good ones ! As we don't really know you - you took a pseudo - I had mostly the good answers ( as Sundower maybe that we know both ) but I threw them all 10 minutes before the last gong, under school stree, as it was too easy for a serious and academic subject as you presented it to us ( Well, it has the merit to make me surfing in unknown websites and to know a lot about POW, NOW ).
I resume ( sorry for my English ) :
1. Pow on its website wrote 2003 ( the answer was easy innit ? ) . In Juxtapoz interview and in other website or book, itโs said late 2002. To finish : I read that the earlier and stammering years of POW were in 2001. A print per example as Rude Copper even if we know that it is from Banksy, is classified at a Pow Print.
2. You should wrote shareholders or directors, instead of creators ( that can also mean " artists " as Hewlett, then quickly Faile, Mode2, etc... You did not told us if it was in juridic terms - as the POW domain per example : Banksy could not be in it as He is not registrated in companieshouse.gov.uk but Lazarides, 2004, Simon Durban, secretary then Director 2005, and S. Parkin, appointed in 2007 ! ) ... so, was it the foundation or all the people including the artists ? Anyway the real and first shareholder or cofounder was Laz. as Banksy is not registrated.
3. Ok for this one, not ambiguous at all. Shoredich, no ?
4. What was Pictures On Walls first ever print show? Sorry I know that it was Santas Ghetto 2003. But as you have wrote the question, I thought that you were asking what was the print ( its name ) done for this show !!
5. Its me " Rude Copper. Rude Copper was printed in 2001 so wasn't technically a POW print. " But I wrote first Have a Nice day ( as written in POw website ) , but RUDE COPPER is the first print sold by POW in 2002.
6. Well Ok for Gee Vaucher, but Sales Ends is the one that we had all in mind. Banks-Hypnosis maybe.
Have a nice Sunday !
* I am not really sure now that you are the one who created this print, that I dmed, etc etc .. , as he lives in USA.

Competition: Pictures On Walls Logo Print, by Lroy on Sept 23, 2018 18:50:34 GMT 1, Too bad you had to turn what was initially an interesting and fun competition into a pointless lesson giving attempt... It was fun, but also quite disappointing to see no one actually got these relatively easy questions right. It certainly wasn't a veiled attempt to give anyone a lesson, but given your answers were mostly incorrect, you now know when asked these questions at any point in the future either in passing or at a lavish dinner party, you can speak with the voice of authority.
Those that know.... have been banned, those that dont....didnt win With all the rules and the tone of the speech a bit serious - I did not say autoritarian -, we, I, have been looking for something more difficult.
Sorry, but the question about the POW show could mean the name of the first ever print ( show ) , and all the question about the creation, all the 3 years could be correct ; the question about shareholders was not clear too. Just a bit of respect for the members that have played the game and that made the effort to search answers ( not the easy ones because we thought that it was no easy), should be fair, thanks.
It gave me a burn out, really !

Competition: Pictures On Walls Logo Print, by Charlesworth on Sept 23, 2018 19:41:57 GMT 1, Itโs a shame no one was able to get all the answers & win that cool print. I wasnโt around in the early days of POW so I had to research the answers on the web. I didnโt end up entering the competition in the end as I was unable to find definite answers to the questions.

Competition: Pictures On Walls Logo Print, by Lroy on Sept 23, 2018 20:36:47 GMT 1, I didn't ask for the original shareholders, I asked the Co-Founders and Creators. Nothing ambiguous there and it was common knowledge from 2003 who they were. Sundowner - you were closest because you were the only one who put Steve Parkin in your answer, but fell in to the trap of going with "shareholders". Rude Copper was original printed in 2001, and was never printed by PoW. Again nothing ambiguous there either.
But Pow sold them and have the control. To answer to your other question : no I donโt feel spoiled or abused, what is done is done. And I wonโt cry. Itโs funny, I donโt know why ( maybe because you compared us with Peckham postcards. ) , I feel a bit of agressivity or condescension : I am ok with you, I just tried to explain ; no problems Just, it was not clear ( questions, that the answers could be easy with rules so drastic, my french translation and understanding etc etc ) for me. I am a dumb maybe. Peace.

Competition: Pictures On Walls Logo Print, by Happy Shopper on Sept 23, 2018 20:45:47 GMT 1, I didn't enter because I knew this would be tricksy!
Are questions 2 and 5 kind of playing by different rules?
Co-Founders is an officical term for creating the company with Companies House.. So those directors should count, shouldn't they? Or you could of just asked who first started POW or who's idea it was. Was Jamie Hewlett not one of those? I always thought he was.
Then Rude Copper didn't count because it was released before POW was official? And the answer was 6 prints, not 1... So the question was a bit misleading.

Competition: Pictures On Walls Logo Print, by irl1 on Sept 23, 2018 21:14:21 GMT 1, I'll give thought on another giveaway, based on a more sinister, but fun entry Forget the giveaway to the members, why don't you put it in the charity fundraiser for little Charlie that T-Bro is running, after all you want to give it away.
I'm sure the users won't mind missing out. Here is a link for you to donate it

Competition: Pictures On Walls Logo Print, by irl1 on Sept 23, 2018 21:30:25 GMT 1, Disappointingly no winners, as no one got the answers to the correct, only 1 person came even close, and that was Sundowner.
Then why the fuck did you buy 50 of them, sad Zunt
