Martin Whatson โข Zebra Print & Canvas, by snoozy on Jan 8, 2022 22:42:11 GMT 1, The print was badly dented and had some creases. The restoration was carried out by Caroline Harrison who would be happy to supply a before and after condition report. www.harrisonconservation.co.uk/ The restoration has completely transformed the print to its former glory and the framing has only just been done to conservation standards. Japanese acid free hinging tape was used which can be removed without marking or damaging the print in any way. Just wondering, why did you go to the effort of having this print professionally framed prior to sale? Would it not of been better to leave it unframed for decent inspection? Looks great, but would personally want to see it unframed due to the obvious restoration. Still a lovely print IMO

Still a lovely print IMO It was shown for a week in a London Gallery but they now have a solo show and it has been in storage. I can easily get it out the frame and open it up to take some videos for you if you are interested.

Martin Whatson โข Zebra Print & Canvas, by sumana4 on Jan 10, 2022 0:27:31 GMT 1, A before and after would really help people place a price on this. But honestly since a mint one probably gets 4000-4200GBP Im not sure a restored one if gonna get 3500 but no one has any idea without seeing what was wrong and what was fixed - then people can make you a reasonable offer based on what the exact condition issues were. Understand your comment re-pricing i'm happy to consider offers from ยฃ2,500 Thanks!

Martin Whatson โข Zebra Print & Canvas, by sean1397 on Jan 16, 2022 9:06:06 GMT 1, Your best bet in all seriousness is to cosign it with a gallery that sells a lot of Whatson's. I would try Jeremiah at Galart.
The only way someone can make you a serious offer is if they can inspect it and that's where a gallery comes in.
All that said though if any damage is visible I think you are looking at a value far below what you think it is worth. A bum corner can knock the value down 25-40%. A crease can be 40-70%. How one values repairs is impassible to say but honestly it makes little sense. You took a print you probably got for very little or free and then prob put $500 or whatever into repairs and $500 into framing. The problem though is if there is visible damage, it may well be worth $500-2000. Impossible to say without being in person.
I would offer $1000 for it with a right to return it post inspection. I would cover shipping. If it had creases that were repaired I think this is about what it is worth but impossible to say without being in person.
Regardless good luck with this and you probably max your return with a gallery assuming it doesnt show flaws when people are in person
