Banksy Raffle • Dismaland Refugee Boat, by Schrödinger's Chat on Dec 5, 2018 14:04:06 GMT 1, might have missed this but is it including the stand? no
. Closest guess wins the boat (the wooden plinth is not included in the weight guessing).
It also mentions that the winner gets the battery pack but that it isn't currently in the boat.

Banksy Raffle • Dismaland Refugee Boat, by Deleted on Dec 5, 2018 14:04:43 GMT 1, I'm with the physics prof: these estimates of 5-15kg seem wildly low to me. A rough calculation shows the volume of water displaced by the hull is somewhere in the order of 90 x 42 x 23cm. That's 86,940 cubic centimeters of water, which at 1g per cc is a weight of 86 kilos. Allowing for the profile of the hull, the boat must surely weigh something in the range of 50kg, not 5. Or am I missing something?
The Physics Professor didn't bother about estimating the exact volume for the part of the boat that gets into the water, but the calculation is correct. Imagine the hull full of water, how many liters of water do you need to fill it? Certainly much more than 5 liters (~5kg).

Banksy Raffle • Dismaland Refugee Boat, by rockbeer on Dec 5, 2018 14:43:17 GMT 1, Not missing anything, but drastically made a mistake. The boat is 48cm in height including the people. You reckon half of the boat is underwater? Those poor migrants would be sinking. Only about 6cm is under the water.
The information provided says the boat dimensions (90 x 38 x 42 - where is your 48 coming from?) - which I took to mean just the actual boat not including the passengers.
Think I need to go and look at it in person to figure out what the actual dimensions are.

I have sent an email but no answer.. I was thinking you could rig this game - if you have the time and the cash. Let say the weight must be between 2.000 and 7.000 gram. That's 5.000 guesses for each gram. Or 10.000 guesses for each half gram. Even if you make 20.000 guesses for each 0.25 gram it will cost you 40K, which gives you pretty good odds to win.
No guarantee of course, but if you are a gambling (wo)man.....
