They remain opinions with the reasons stated next to a bolded ebay seller.
I will start the ball rolling
coignard.2009 alleged by original artist to have faked a non delivery, got a refund then attempting to relist
art_et_plaisir flipping for 400 Euro what largely remained unsold in a museum shop for 50 USD
champs111088 claiming the work is legit from dismaland backing up claim "by my 100% approval rating"
graffiti-prints making the listing of obvious fakes appear as if are real. No apparent statement in listing that they are knock offs

The *official* Dodgy ebay seller thread, by wappinghigh on Dec 2, 2018 12:41:53 GMT 1, ^ Sure. That was a weak one. Agreed. I have argued it's dodgy because the massive price of $120,000 USD lures an unknowing buyer into believing the artists work, background and artistic merit demand that. It depends on the meaning of the word "dodgy"....agreed. It does not just mean "proven scammer" in my view. I stated my reasons. Also I argued an art work advertised at 84x72 inches is not "HUGE". An artworks size hold some sway on valuation. And the asking price of $120,000 put's the work up there with banksy. And Ive seen the movie about brainwash. I am sure you are aware of that. Just my view. Cheers

Nelly Duff selling a Conor Harrington - Modern Monarchy for 4500GBP.
http://instagram.com/p/BogpIQPBtH1 They're claiming this has come out of the directors archives and have huge framing costs. The reality is that they purchased this from Chiswick Auctions in september for around 2300GBP with frame. The framing cost was about 600GBP.

The *official* Dodgy ebay seller thread, by wappinghigh on Dec 2, 2018 12:53:24 GMT 1, Again just because you dont agree with their pricing doesn’t make them scammers or dodgy! It is a genuine piece from a genuine gallery. Not a scammer or dodgy! You just dont agree with the pricing. I never said it was an illegitimate piece from a non genuine gallery. OK? There are many legitimate used car salesman who sell cars at dodgy prices. Ok then - if the price is not totally ridiculous lets see it go to a proper ebay auction. The fact that this in itself is not happening is "dodgy" in my view. Be this as it may. It is only my view. Cheers.

WoW that’s a tad overpriced, perhaps they’ve built some discount into the asking price. I might give them a wave and see!

The *official* Dodgy ebay seller thread, by christiangul on Dec 2, 2018 13:09:39 GMT 1, wappinghigh My last reply wasn’t directed at you it was directed at christiangul who posted the Harrington. Nelly Duff are neither scammers or dodgy but I do agree it is overpriced 😉 Nelly Duff are scammers in the way they are operating on this piece! From the post on IG it seems they are selling it for 1600GBp which would have been fair. I've been emailing with them and they told me so many lies about this pice, which I found out was just bulls**t so they could justify the price.
I've bough pieces from the earlier and had great experience, but this is NOT the way to do it. Be honest, or shut up, that's my thought.

Few years back I bought a B print from them for over 10k£.
They assured me it was mint, but it was framed, so I paid a deposit and agreed to pay the rest once they unframed and showed me the back.
In the interval Dismaland opened.
Few days later I got a call saying they were really sorry but the frame job was terrible and had destroyed the print so I wasn’t going to want it and they would of course refund me....
I asked for pics knowing full well what was going on, and they ultimately came clean saying they thought they would get more for it now that Dismaland was on
So yeah they are officially liars in my book and I wouldn’t get anywhere near them ever again

The *official* Dodgy ebay seller thread, by settingson on Dec 2, 2018 14:17:57 GMT 1, wappinghigh Don't really understand why you have called out some of the above sellers as “dodgy” just because you dont agree with their pricing or you believe the artist has “known history” and the last thing what on earth has quoting the size as “huge” and you not agreeing with it got to do with it? Not being awkward here just genuinely want to know why? If people are gonna be listing everything they don’t like here about ebay sellers this is going to be a pointless trawl through countless seemingly pointless posts. I thought it would just be strictly about proven scammers/fakers not the people you simply don't seem to agree with. Agree with this entirely! There's enough scammers selling Dismaland artefacts with fake COA, photocopied Di tenners, fake sales of same items etc and some craftily worded listings that try to con people outright that could be named and shamed and even examples where people have had valid cause for concern which would be much better highlighted in a thread like this. Think in the main people on here have a handle on the basic con artists but occasionally one of them ups their game and this would be the ideal place to question those listings. For people with $120000 to spend I would expect them to be sensible enough to shop around and take expert advice before passing over such sums. There's definitely a place on the board for a dedicated thread but I think it needs to be a bit more black/white on what's put up and not just a subjective view otherwise it will become a minefield of opinions and lose the simplicity that I think it best needs.

I dont know whether its a fake or not but pow quality control hasnt always been top priority, theyve certainly stamped in multiple places withon the same edition and theyve certainly had slight variations of colour within the same edition. I hope people dont take one persons word as bond and do their own resource.

Nothing about this is "dodgy". If you're going to smear someone's good name publicly at least have a real reason.

If people are willing to pay 400 for it, it´s their own fault. Still I think it´s not really nice... but you can´t compare it with selling fake art or to fake a non delivery.
A few years ago I´ve bought a Jeff Gillette via eBay and received a super cheap fake poster print. I definitely know how it feels to fall into this kind of trap...

The *official* Dodgy ebay seller thread, by Coach on Dec 2, 2018 16:54:14 GMT 1, There is already a “Not good dealings with” thread, if members want to warn others about serious shenanigans in the past.
If this thread is to be useful, it should be for warning each other about existing nefarious eBay listings. Actual current listings. This would help protect our community.
And, it is fine to post eBay links, if the purpose is to highlight such a listing.
Posting links to pieces that you might think are too expensive would be ill advised as it will water the thread down, and we should all be able to do our own research before deciding what to spend.
This has the ability to be a useful thread, but not, in my opinion, in the way it looks like it will be used at present.
