Pejac - Love Letter, by Chris JL on Mar 29, 2019 15:32:18 GMT 1, Just got mine back from Mister Frameman, who's done a super job on it. It has clips on the reverse so when the time comes to change it over, I'll have to open it up, flip it around and reseal the backing.
Could you please post a picture of the back? Iโll show it to my framer :-)

Pejac - Love Letter, by GMA on Mar 29, 2019 16:49:28 GMT 1, Sure, here's the back. So it's sealed, but there are frame clips there that I'll be able pull back and bend back down as and when I want to turn the artwork around. I don't expect to do that for 6 months or so. I don't fancy doing it more often than that.
Came to ยฃ220 if anyone was wondering.

If you did so with the Love letter, you better revise your strategy. Open editions arenโt the best short term investments! Thought it was obvious for most.

Pejac - Love Letter, by calnew on Apr 3, 2019 13:22:42 GMT 1, These letters generated a big easy cash grab for Max & Pejac. Including the PR original for charity. Itโs seems to have backfired though, even with talks of the new show. It just no longer feels justifiable to spend 4K on his prints. The recent moon painting for sale at 75k - its all become abit of a joke to be honest.

4k for a print is crazy, but that has been the market. Until it isn't any more.
In context, I can buy smaller editions from absolute tier 1 photographers with long, proven auction records. I will take that all day long.

Pejac - Love Letter, by kuni on Apr 3, 2019 14:18:30 GMT 1, I have no idea what Pejac's general market is doing, but I don't understand why anyone would buy an OE thinking they could quickly flip it and make money. I mean, if you wanted to have this piece, you could have just purchased it at cost. By nature of an OE, supply should pretty much equal demand. What's the rationale?

For the other comments (similar to "I would rather buy from another for the same budget"), it's basically applicable to any anything you can purchase on earth. It's just a matter of taste and goals.
I won't comment on the 75K original as it's out of my league, however 4K prints will become soon the new norm for known artists. How many prints are being release over 1K USD/GBP/EUR nowadays? Liking it or not, that's was I observe, passively.

Absolutely right. I remember the โฌ1200 Invader LED felt like a bit of a watershed, given how it flew off the shelf. A four figure drop now seems to be the norm for all the most popular print artists. It makes it all the more refreshing when pricing is more reasonable, even if it just ends up making the print harder to get.
I guess from the artist perspective, if the market will bear it then why let the profit of your talent accrue to flippers for 5 minutes work. I can't really argue with this.
And you're right also, arguments about what else you can buy for 4k are up to the individual. There are plenty of much less appealing works that go for far more by the same token.

'4k prints will soon become the new norm for known artists' Intentially or not 'known artists' is an ambiguous term. Are their any other artists that are in their 40s with less major shows than Oli Epp commanding ยฃ4k a print?

Pejac - Love Letter, by pada1 on Apr 4, 2019 0:37:31 GMT 1, Kaws ? :-) Invader? *Banksy*? Os Gemeos?
I meant known as the general public term... the artist who has exposure on this forum is already a good benchmark for all of us.
Prints were initially sold as a more affordable way to own artwork from an artist. Like toys for some... Seems the boundaries are being pushed. Books and stickers and showcards are now the way of the โpoorโ.
Back to Pejac. I think the open edition was a tentative to go back to lower prices. I am sure he will try other ways.
