Pejac - Love Letter, by Steph Rat Catcher on Dec 4, 2018 20:34:20 GMT 1, Iโve never heard so much bollocks in all my days in people trying to justify spunking ยฃ600 for this. Each to their own I guess but gushing over how gently those envelopes have been caressed and packaged, oooh heโs donating one to orphan badgers too. Fanboys get the baby oil and scented candles out. I love this place. You have not seen how he puts the stamps on, have you! In the old days it used to be a pretty lady in a field eating a cadburys flake, now we have......some french dude with white gloves brv Lroy hasnโt got gloves thats his ears mate

Pejac - Love Letter, by whob1 on Dec 4, 2018 20:42:28 GMT 1, Enveloped envelope...so you can ship him more money back. Its a money love letter.
Too expensive, and not a typical, or at least not what I associate with a piece of Pejac artwork. If this is his new direction, he has lost it. I dont like to have an opinion about what people shall do with their own money, but still, he should donate half of this release or so to an enviromental organization, showing he really cares and not only uses his talent to make cash. Think that would only benefit him.

Pejac - Love Letter, by nobokov on Dec 4, 2018 20:47:31 GMT 1, Doesn't every child draw stick figures walking on the lines of lined paper? Why is this image interesting?
Though I did love the way they wore gloves to delicately unpeel and apply the Fragile sticker. I imagine after applying stickers to 300 more boxes, it's not going to be caressed as sweetly
I loved the work from his first show and his street work is always interesting. His editions on the other hand are always a letdown to me. The work from the waterline show also seemed lackluster. I have high hopes for him, but feel he should really stick to the street work to build his name. With the awesome street work, he built this following of maybe 1500 fans worldwide and a small rabid group that'll travel from the far reaches of the earth. He can do better.
The Pejac boat's already sailed for me, in terms of the price point and my interest level. I don't own any pejacs and don't see it in the future. But I hope that he expands his representation and widens the fanbase by selling to a greater varied number of customers. Maybe getting into some group exhibitions from well-known galleries would be healthy. I don't think this price point or image is going to widen the audience, as seems to be aimed at established fans who missed out on the earlier editions and are betting that his prices will continue upward.
The image probably speaks more to Pejac than it does to anyone else, the email mentioned something about his student day window, so I'm guessing it's a nostalgic image for him.

Holy crap at the fickle crowd! Lost it he says! Youโre funny. Never a shortage of goons around here ready to declare the rise or fall of an artist as present it imminent.
The dude has done everything from stain glass window astronaut helmets to sculpture to paintings and pencil. Scratched autos...etc. this is literally a piece based on the work that his been on his website for years (albeit on a window). Pejac has always been multi faceted.
I get why people donโt like this piece. Where you run from there is absurd.

He has 80k Instagram followers. I'm sure there's more then 1500 of them that are fans. Haha
And your last paragraph. Are you saying that's a negative thing? I sure hope that it does speak more to him.

He only has a few thousand likes per image, so that's probably a better ballpark to look at.
From my last paragraph, I know that every painting will mean more to the artist themselves, but for this one, I imagine that most of us aren't impressed by the image and have to invent some sort of story for it to apply to us. It's not a powerful image is what I'm saying. The email says, "For this occasion, Pejac reached back towards the imagery for some of his earliest works." To me occasion implies that this is a special moment and that this is an image that should be special and meaningful to us. I'm just saying it isnt.

I think it's a dangerous idea that an artist should be trying to please or impress a viewer as your comment reads as such.

I get that in the ideal sense of the lonely tortured artist in their bubble of creation, but he's also selling an open Edition product. You'd think that he would be considering the viewer when he's trying to get them to pay him.

Pejac - Love Letter, by davin550 on Dec 4, 2018 22:02:42 GMT 1, If bring my own gloves, can I get a 100 quid discount?
Seriously, though, I really like the piece. It's simple and creative, but its expensive for what you get. It shows Pejac's creativity, but you don't get the level of detail you get in his more traditional prints.
Lastly, I imagine most people would display this open, so it can be easily flipped from front to back, but I would be deathly afraid of a stray sneeze or cough. Can the box it comes in be used as frame? Maybe slide in a piece of plexiglass to protect it?
