I heard about Michael Shurman a few years ago.

He makes some fair points and it would have been interesting regarding him mentioning he had over fifty paintings stolen and the circumstances of that happening.

He comes across as genuine and is in no way saying he is Banksy. rather that he started doing some stencils and art on walls back in 2000 and had an idea to contact the press about the art whilst at the same time remaining anonymous.

The press were interested and then strange things started to happen like when he recieved threatening anonymous phone calls. Meanwhile someone else had a similar idea and managed to get press coverage very easily.

Some people believe that behind Banksy were a group of local business investors who had the right contacts and also the money to pay for full time PR which is very expensive. The stencils witty cartoons sprayed on walls to appeal to the majority without being offensive whilst being very very slightly anti establishment and anarchic.

Sort of like some people did not want Shurman and his art on walls taking attention away from the British Blekky.

Nothing surprises me considering that money brings out the worst in people.
