Pez Mirage print release today, by walfredo on Feb 27, 2019 2:13:57 GMT 1, Ebay is flooded with overpriced "Mirage's", haven't seen a single resale after release though (but don't keep track of every forum). Have to say this is a sign of a poor release, or am I wrong? Plenty of flippers even though a portion of the drop was offered to VIP's in a pre-sale. My point being that of the ones that were released to everyone, a large portion seems to have ended up in the hands of flippers. Probably a couple who was planning a flip but is holding their horses because of the many ebay listings. And yes, I am still a little bitter I missed out... i think its a great release...got the mono, love it...more than hopescotch...just havent gotten it framed yet. really cool in person...i think we are seeing the age of sneakers with some artists, print houses and releases where people are just buying for the flip...it definitely not more of the same from him. there was another conversation on 'is urban art dead' and another one on a particular artist thats getting flack for more of the same....dont think thats the case here

most of these new kids on the block were or still are sneaker heads..some even get mad if you call out their flipping habits and go as far as to hide the fact that they do it...

Pez Mirage print release today, by Yabadabdo on Feb 27, 2019 12:36:22 GMT 1, I think anyone selling are mad, the print is great. I'd have loved the og but the quality of the print is top notch. For anyone who likes the image I recommend trying to get hold of it.

That picture of the OG is over saturated and with way too high contrast, and the white balance looks off tbh - ie not a good representation of the real thing. But yes, it looked great in the flesh at the London show.

Pez Mirage print release today, by froncz on Mar 3, 2019 23:33:08 GMT 1, Cause most of the release was snatched by bots/flippers? The stock being offered now will find homes and the print itself is gonna do well in the long run.

Pez Mirage print release today, by chevyav53 on Mar 4, 2019 20:16:15 GMT 1, On some of his older pieces as well. People are only willing to spend so much on prints and I think the thought of dropping big money on prints is starting to fall. Of course you will have the prints by some artists hold like Banksy but others even invader and Pejac are plateauing or dropping.
As many have pointed out in such threads, why not explore the other wonderful artists out there and put an original on your wall instead of overpaying for a print. Totally agree.

Totally agree. this is an interesting topic to me....as somewhat new i have been collecting a lot of the newer prints that have come out and really am looking for a jump to some originals or looking at if i should pickup at least one print from all the major players....invader, banksy and pejac being what i would consider my 'missing' artists...because of the cost. i am wondering if its worth avoiding the prints and using the money for an original in a mid-tier artist
i have both the Hopescotch and now the b\w mirage and i love the mirage, but the hopescotch is falling down my list. its interesting to see what kind of 'investment' value these have...although i mostly buy what i like and not to invest.
scared to drop $10k on an invader print with soo much i can get thats an original for that price

Prime example, except for Banksy all these other artists prints, for the most part, the prices are dropping and if we hit an economic downturn as many are forecasting many of these will fall further and may never recover especially as art preferences change.
So I enjoy macroeconomics and watching the markets..... if I look at some of the trends and think about it in terms of a print market, which I have yet to lets consider two new trends.....
Housing - two new trends shared housing and smaller homes, which equal less wall space. Could that play a factor.
Brand and customer loyalty is changing. Consumers are not as loyal to brands as their parents. We are more willing and easily switching. As we continue to have more tools to view more artists will we no longer care about who the piece came from if we can have a beautiful original with a similar message as opposed to a poster? Even as you say Hopescotch is falling down your list and it is not that old, is there something you already see better than it for your walls.... prime example

Even as you say Hopescotch is falling down your list and it is not that old, is there something you already see better than it for your walls.... prime example oh...i agree about not buying for investment, except when you start to considering $5k+ prints you have to think of it that way....anything under that is definitely because i like it, known or unknown. lots of conversations here about pieces and it is funny with prints recently. I particularly find the conversation interesting about once a artist is copied or knocked off...are you happy with a $10 copy of a banksy on the wall or spending $15K to see it (potentially) be worth $10k in a couple years...as an example, dont beat me up...i wouldnt buy a knock off....but would be scared to get one at market rate! kaws has always been an interesting topic around this for people i speak to with costs for prints and the toys.
peoples tastes always change...i started in rock art and have quite good collection, but as an adult its moved out of my main living space, but have not sold it. hopescotch as you mentioned was one of my first release purchases in this world and as you discover you evolve. i do say that pez has a wider range of work than say some of the other artists where each piece is a bit similar....friends refer to whatson as 'the guy that draws graffiti on stuff'....but i think its important to have a piece or two.
im curious as to what happens with invader since the prices skyrocketed rather quickly yet i dont think he should retain the value of banksy.
getting into originals like Pejac and Pez always seemed a bit out of range or i personally dont have the pedigree in the market to have access to a original i would really be willing to spend that money on.
all interesting stuff....the dynamics and the trends are quite interesting...i will say i tend to stay away from celebrity artists as its generally over fluffed and expensive because so and so has one.

I see, yes feel the same about investing, dropping $5K on something.
Love to know the dollar amount spent by some here +framing would you have been more happy not buying those prints for a year or two and instead have bought an original Pez or a Banksy print or both depending on how much spent

Pez Mirage print release today, by wrigs on Mar 4, 2019 22:55:26 GMT 1, this is an interesting topic to me....as somewhat new i have been collecting a lot of the newer prints that have come out and really am looking for a jump to some originals or looking at if i should pickup at least one print from all the major players....invader, banksy and pejac being what i would consider my 'missing' artists...because of the cost.ย i am wondering if its worth avoiding the prints and using the money for an original in a mid-tier artist i have both the Hopescotch and now the b\w mirage and i love the mirage, but the hopescotch is falling down my list. its interesting to see what kind of 'investment' value these have...although i mostly buy what i like and not to invest.ย scared to drop $10k on an invader print with soo much i can get thats an original for that price First mistake, buying for investment should but it for the love of art.ย Prime example, except for Banksy all these other artists prints, for the most part, the prices are dropping and if we hit an economic downturn as many are forecasting many of these will fall further and may never recover especially as art preferences change.ย So I enjoy macroeconomics and watching the markets..... if I look at some of the trends and think about it in terms of a print market, which I have yet to lets consider two new trends..... Housing - two new trends shared housing and smaller homes, which equal less wall space.ย Could that play a factor.ย Brand and customer loyalty is changing.ย Consumers are not as loyal to brands as their parents.ย We are more willing and easily switching.ย As we continue to have more tools to view more artists will we no longer care about who the piece came from if we can have a beautiful original with a similar message as opposed to a poster?ย Even as you sayย Hopescotch is falling down your list and it is not that old, is there something you already see better than it for your walls.... prime example
Not sold on the size of homes concerns. Ultimately theres more money floating about the middle classes and arts much more accessible than it has been especially with the likes of Instagram etc. Donโt think the size of peopleโs homes will be much of a factor. That said do ages the price of prints for some of these artists will undoubtedly hit a bump

Pez Mirage print release today, by chevyav53 on Mar 7, 2019 20:36:08 GMT 1, Think I follow this print now on eBay just for entertainment. It's as if one allegedly sells then three more pop up.... how many morons bought this not to hang? If this continues I might be interested again at $250

I didnโt receive tracking, no refund and no response when I email them. I filled out the contact form on the site and emailed. Info@graffitiprints.com. Not sure what else to do besides call them but Iโm not in the UK.
