Once again its on: The Graffiti Prints Archive Vaults , by shrimpandgrits on Nov 16, 2019 22:26:02 GMT 1, I want a signed Invader or Whatson badly and wouldn't mind paying the prices in this latest GP sale. There is always going to be someone with deeper pockets than you or I.
My problem with these sales is that Bots will always buy everything first before any real person can. I wish these sales were conducted via Lottery instead; yes, I know the flippers will have an equal chance as a you and I but at least it evens the playing field in terms of chances.

You would need a lottery for each print....
There are more places you can get a MW or Invader.

Rather complex to organize a lottery for 64 different prints. You would need a lottery for each print.... There are more places you can get a MW or Invader. |

I could list a number of artists and print houses who regularly mark editions as ‘sold out’ soon after release regardless of just how few they’ve actually sold. As well as satisfying ego’s, the idea being that the illusion of demand creates demand as speculators then contact the artist/print house with a desperate plea to purchase, to them be rewarded with a ‘cancellation’ or other.
I have a friend who works for various galleries, including Laz Inc. He's got a few stories to tell.

It’s called the soft sellout and started in the concert ticket industry by scalpers. They hold all the good seats back and sell the sh*te seats > sold out. Then re releases trickle over time creating a false demand. This is why you can go to pretty much any concert these days and get the first few rows for way under face. (pre corona hoax)
Same with art/print houses, Supreme, Nike/Jordan’s, high end fashion - even Rolex does it now on special editions.
