The best street art is all about context

How are we on the previous "new Banksy" ?

Brings to question the general question in regards to an artwork. Can a piece be good or powerful if the meaning can’t be deciphered?

You join a Banksy-centric forum less than 2 months ago to express Banksy sarcasm? What’s the point?

Is the meaning not quite straightforward? The kid has lit an emergency flare because he's about to disappear underwater due to climate change.

As someone else mentioned, it doesn't look like a flair, it looks more like an uprooted plant. 

This really adds to the irony of humanity. Uprooting a plant and burning it for our own salvation while continuing to destroy our planet for our own self interest/benefit.

Victoria B is Banksy. Most of the cities where the Spice Girls ever had a gig also have some Banksy works. Clearer proof than that...

 It depends on who and why people fall for the hype.

 Looks like another generic non white child used in Banksy images to promote his left wing propaganda virtue signalling. Banksy brand advertising via his PR team which gets the art and some blurb into newspaper articles.

Decent placement, distress flare is a nice touch. The repetition of children in work of late warrants a visit by the operation ore team. But seriously, the use of kids everywhere adds a cloying sentimentality to the output .good marketing I suppose but a world away from the cynical cod situationist jibes of the early 2000s

You could have just said "Looks like another Banksy piece I don't like and disagree with" and come across looking a little less like a tool.

So I think the consensus would be this is a Banksy, even though it hasn't been authenticated.
