Despite what others say, I think Roger Gastman took on a big project and pulled it off amazingly well. I went down to the show early one day and saw a group of what looked to be school children from around the economically challenged area leaving the building. They had just finished an art field trip and on their way out they were each given a Banksy show litho! There were many special events and Gastman did what he could to keep people coming and buying art.
Brooklyn will be fortunate this summer, there will be some great art, and I would think a new Banksy. It might be one of the only authorized places to see Banksy without going to the Walled Off.

as an FYI, there is nothing in the gift shop from any of the following artists:
-Invader
-Nina Chanel Abney
-Takashi Murakami (coming soon though, currently held at customs)
-Retna
There wasn't really anything in the shop that I wanted to pick up. There is a pretty decent Felipe Pantone diptych edition of 150 for $500 that is probably one of the nicer shop items. Some chairs too.
Overall the exhibition looks great; a little more sterile/less 'street'-themed than the LA one, pretty much looks like a museum exhibit rather than a 'street art show' if that makes sense.
Highlights for me were the LED Invader (on his insta now), the Cleon Peterson setup, the gigantic Pantone canvas, and the Nina Chanel Abney canvas.
Banksy does not seem to be involved this year.
