...I donโt understand - if you think the print is horrible why would you contemplate paying ยฃ300 for it, surely you just wouldnโt buy it at all.

Tracey Emin No Surrender, by Charlie Bronson on Jun 27, 2019 20:50:08 GMT 1, I am quite a keen collector of her work. This seems like an important print - first time I have seen a combination of red and blue colours in a print. I like the softness/unfinished nature to it, but it's not as hard-hitting as some of her other work. If I had the funds (currently facing destitution due to building works at home), I would probably have taken the plunge at launch price with the 20% discount (although as I type this, I observe that the price has jumped from ยฃ3,600 to ยฃ4,200 pre-discount... I'm sure this will be close to 6/7 in due course). However, I feel like there are better "value" editions from her (and pieces which feel more on point to the themes and emotions running through her work) in what White Cube are currently offering - they have some editions of 50 at either ยฃ750 and ยฃ1400, as well as her bronze edition of 50 at ยฃ2,500. I'd probably rather bag a handful of those, rather than this single Counter Editions print.
How do I access their available prints? Canโt seem to find them.

If you are tempted, there is a 20% discount code (see previous posts above).

I think this was good value at ยฃ2880 with discount for sure! Also I have to agree the White Cube bronze at 2.5k Is a steal.

Tracey Emin No Surrender, by Horatio Nelson on Jul 1, 2019 19:59:31 GMT 1, With hindsight, Iโm gutted I passed on this at launch with the discount. Not related to the subsequent price rise, but the image has really grown on me.
I saw some not too dissimilar Emin prints at a colleagues house at the weekend (Grand Hotel series) and realised that when Emin uses colour, it really pops out in a way that her monochrome etching and lithographs donโt.
Oh well, maybe next time.

Tracey Emin No Surrender, by blerd on Jul 1, 2019 22:22:47 GMT 1, Agreed it was all about that very soft sensuous pink against the intense red, calm blue and melancholy black. Money and value aside its the best print I've seen from her.

Tracey Emin No Surrender, by Horatio Nelson on Jul 2, 2019 20:11:56 GMT 1, Now that I do agree with. Having said that don't knock the poetry! Fair enough!!!! The thing is, buying art as an investment is all well and good, but my mantra is that you have to love the piece for its aesthetic qualities before even considering a purchase.
It would be easy to snap up every release from Counter Editions at launch from recent months (Bernhadt, Shrigley, Creed) as an "investment", but if it won't please me every time I see it on the wall, then it's a non-starter.

I agree with that. Iโm just talking about the board in general.
