Pejac - Yin-Yang, by Deleted on Jul 4, 2019 12:43:58 GMT 1, Respectfully I would disagree with this. This is a thread for discussion about this release, and anyone should be free to express their opinion. That right shouldn't be taken away simply because some members have now purchased one. If this discussion was being carried out in the 'show us your latest art buy' thread, as per your example, I would agree with you. But it's not. Using your logic, no-one would be allowed to express a negative opinion about a piece of artwork unless it hasn't yet been available for sale for fear of upsetting someone who might own it. Frankly that is ridiculous. respectfully, it's more a matter of common decency and etiquette. you aren't losing your right to post, you still have the right to talks**t about the art that other people own, no one can stop you. but once people have bought the art, the criticism seems a lot more insensitive and judgmental/mal-intended. and frankly no one is expressing new opinions here, it has been 10+ pages of the same crap lol. it is tired, let those who bought it enjoy their purchase. someone can always start a thread about whether or not yin-yang is a good print, instead of coming to a thread full of people who bought the print and saying they think it sucks.
this thread is about the print, not who has bought it, maybe a thread entitled I have purchased a Yin-yang print might be the way to go?

I'll put you forward
Nex for Mod!
Sigh Okay, so here it is, where you can and canโt have opinion others may not like: You can (in general) have an opinion: In the thread discussing the release In a thread discussing the artist and his work or an associated thread You canโt (in general) have an opinion: In a want to buy or for sale thread (although highlighting misinformation or ill judged pricing should be stated, as benefit to the community) In a latest buy thread / get your pics out thread Right, as you were

Thus explaining why we like or dislike is the central point. The information worthy to share.

Pejac - Yin-Yang, by Johnny Sarcasm on Jul 4, 2019 13:14:30 GMT 1, you all must realize that many members have purchased this print now, and that calling it lazy/overpriced/an awful image etc. after people have purchased and are excited about the print just comes off as extremely rude at this stage, it is the equivale. nt of going into the 'show us your latest art buy' thread and saying people's recent purchases suck or were overpriced - it is a weird approach to the forum and life as a human being y'all had a solid week to talk s**t. let people enjoy the decision they made You are you the opinion police ? Idiot

It took me close to 14 seconds for amex to process my payment on their end. I am unfamiliar with how Avant's carting/inventory appears when all items are processing but id say a hand full of people were able to check out. Also, please don't hate me, I actually happen to be on of the nice ones here

You were way lucky since I heard there were people hacking the crap out of it.

Pejac - Yin-Yang, by loother on Jul 4, 2019 15:43:42 GMT 1, I missed yesterday's drop because I was at the theatre. I go to the theatre about twice a year and for him to schedule a drop while I was there was, I think, vindictive. Had I not been there, I'd certainly have had a go. It's not in my opinion the best Pejac print, nor the most original, but it's well executed and I had just the wall for it.
In other news, if you're in London, Death of a Salesman at the Young Vic is unbelievable, and worth missing a print for. Which is just as well.

I think one reason they make you check out is so that flippers cannot hold it in the cart while they decide if it is a quick sell out and therefore likely a profitable flip.

I literally didnt have to do anything until the CC fill in page - of which was autofilled already and hit process. Either way someone blessed me. I was shocked to see there was a hack too with the screenshots, im sure the next release will be more protected?

Pejac - Yin-Yang, by coller on Jul 4, 2019 16:10:39 GMT 1, i agree that this probably would've worked better in a smaller size, but i am also starting to love more gigantic prints as they give less of a 'collector' vibe on the wall for me. when someone devotes that much wall space to something then it makes it seem to me like they really are a fan of the image/art. and of course some images work better than others for large prints.
i have one 30inx40in print on my wall and i love how huge it is. the new pantone is about the same size, and i imagine i will love it for similar reasons. same with this, although i guess 2x the size.
brb gonna go measure walls.

People are either pissed they didn't get the print, trying to bash an artist they don't like, or just want to troll for the sake of it.
If you don't support or like an artists work, then don't go on to their subsection just to be a dink and talk s**t.
Let others enjoy what they enjoy.

Personally if I buy an original I like the idea that it be unique, so making a print release on it after would not sit too well for me

No matter how many prints, stickers or placemats they make of it. Not to mention the OG will likely increase in value.
Wanting to keep the image all to yourself seems a bit selfish. When you are the owner of the canvas, the artist remains owner of the image. You should know that when you buy an Original.

To own an original from which a print is made is a privilege and I would be thrilled. And why not? You would have the original to enjoy, and others enjoy a copy of it.

However, if an original is turned to a print, it is usually a very good thing. Likewise a very small edition (like say 5) turned into a larger run.
I believe in fashion this is called the diffusion line, and enhances the value and exclusivity of the real deal
