i dont think its that high i think in america last year the top 1% accounted for about 25% of the country income,
so i just think its a bit of a joke by banksy and maybe a little truth
although i do think someone has drawn on another 1 onto the percentage not seen it like that before...

I'd get in contact with the original seller and press them for a back story on the print... You never know the story might check out and then you can take this information back to Pest Control and see if this changes anything.

I'm pretty certain that eBay or Paypal will not be interested at all, PayPal protection only lasts for 45 days after the sale, after that you have no cover. I suggest you contact the seller sending proof that the item is a fake and if you get either no or an unfavourable response go to this government web site : www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/web/mcol/welcome

It maybe that the name doesn't match because he bought it from the original owner but never got it transfered into his name, so it may not be a fake, but the only way to be sure is to have POW confirm if it is genuine or not. If it isn't legit at least then you will have proof to start a claim and you will also be able to add to the claim any fees that POW charge.

I bought a 2003 print which I was certain was genuine... took it to POW & I got the same reply - 'it's fake'...&... 'We will destroy it for you'... My stomach turned.
Did a bit more digging and managed to get a back story for the print.... Went back to POW with the info and then after a few more checks, I was told 'it is genuine'.... Phew.
Just goes to show you... This was all pre Pest Control, when there was no charge for authentication, and TBH I think they learnt a lot from that experience as our print was produced pre-POW.
Print was returned and has been on our wall ever since...!
I love a happy ending... I hope yours has one!

I recently purchased a Banksy from someone who had not transferred the print into their name. The seller had full provenance, including the name and details of the original purchaser/owner, an email trail outlining the sale from original purchaser to themselves, plus, of course, the COA. One email from me to PC with these details and all was fine and transferred to my name.

I think something was afoot with sellers / registered names,
but anyway emails went back and forth betwixt buyer and seller (not too forthcoming with anything useful at first), and buyer and Pest Control today.
Turns out buyer's COA obviously matched registered details as the stress-lifting email " please send hi-res image of print number and COA to update you as the current owner of the print" arrived.
Hi-res images were sent
Email reply "The print you have sent an image of is not the work that was authenticated as a legitimate work by Banksy" bring it in for us to check.
=The poor lads stress levels right back up.
So that was tonight's phone call.
Any thoughts guys ?
