So many Banksy Box Set Fakes too!!! Yeah the prices of these are so depressed, the market is absolutely flooded. There is no way genuine guests reselling would have created this much supply. i think a lot of the locals supplying the hotel are probably producing way more for sale on the black market. |

The eBay member isย eddysapparel - based in the UK -ย I was unlucky enough to purchase a fake Shepard Fairey from him on eBay, and under close scrutiny I noticed a number of his other Fairey listings seemed a bit dodgy too. The print I bought was the 'Holiday Mandala' in red and gold. I own quite a few other Fairey prints, and checking it next to them I could tell the ink/finish was totally different, almost waxy and too thick (which I believe is why he sells a number of his works framed - putting these in a tube will definitely make the paint/ink crack and flake). Also, looking at another Mandela a friend owns, the image wasn't as sharp, with small details being inconsistant (like the swirls & petal finishes being off). Also, the edition was the wrong size. He usually sells the prints at a low value (not sure why you'd fake Faireys considering they aren't too expensive anyways compared to other artists) and has listed multiples of the same prints. I'm not sure if all are fakes, but considering he sells multiples of the same image, in frames, with a number of the signatures looking iffy, I would do some investigative homework before committing to a purchase. Never hesitate to name shame if saving members from fakes, I enjoy blocking eBay users in my account. Thank you for looking out.ย

I've owned many signed prints, but the sigs always seem quite the sameโฆ.
I suspect he does sign them all himself.

My advice would be to take your time. If the seller has Low or poor feedback then avoid.
Also see what else the seller has sold in the past few months. If they have only sold Box sets then I reckon they are a wrong!!!

It just goes to show how these fakers are so sloppy. Problem is not all fakers are so careless and that damages the market for everyone. Thanks for pointing this out its a real eye opener. |

The item he sent his not even the one he advertised, and what I got is clearly a fake (I just compared it to the real deal).
Wrote to the due about whether he wants come out clean (i.e. send me the one he posted pictures of, since it looked right). Failing this, I'll report him to eBay and the police Action Fraud portal (whoever bought from him, you should do the same). He has a long string of likely scams, so they might actually pick it up (I'll make sure I make that point clear in my complaint).

For the fake I received also the paper is off in terms of weight (lighter) and smoother, and the print seems done with a photo printer rather than a silk screen (where the plastic โshineโ replaces the intensity of the mat but strong colours of the original)

He claims his works are real and he buys and sells, that the fake thing are just rumors...ebay doesn't really care, and I don't know if obey giant brand cares...
