I get the impression that most of his work is a publicity stunt.

Hayden Kays 🇬🇧 New Print Release • Show News • For Sale, by Deleted on Oct 29, 2018 14:24:14 GMT 1, I'm appalled that Hayden would rip off an Aboriginal artist. I'm unfollowing him immediately. This accusation was also directed at Damien Hirst recently. Quite frankly it doesn't hold up to scrutiny. Aboriginal art may well involve lots of spots but it doesn't look anything like this, or Damien Hirst's recent paintings either. It reminds me more of some of the french impressionist rather than aboriginal art.

(a) they are originals rather than the Damien Hirsts that are just signed prints.
and
(b) they are cheaper.

Nobokov one of the more tongue in cheek members here, he was referencing HK ripping off DH who may have ripped off himself. The reference you make to French Impressionist and pointillist was DH's defense.

I can't see why anybody would buy one of these. Maybe because these are actually made by the artist himself. Instead of by modern slaves in a sweat shop. Maybe that's why HK refers to the minimum wage….

I think in the court of public opinion DH would be a guilty man. HK, meh.

Although of course Hirst did paint the Veil series himself... so perhaps HK should have done copies of Hirst spin or spot paintings, which are more often painted by studio assistants.

Hayden Kays 🇬🇧 New Print Release • Show News • For Sale, by avec art on Oct 29, 2018 15:42:17 GMT 1, true Happy Shopper although, that painting I posted is not entirely abstract. Aboriginal artists will often paint landscapes and encoding places of significance within a painting, which can't be so easily read by the uninitiated .. you know what I mean.

I have a large collection of HK originals, so very happy to add this to the collection.

Catawiki always seems to be loaded with his stuff. He does make a lot, but most of his work does have a message or an idea. What lacks in a lot of other artists work. So his work does reflect the times we live in. Sometimes it's funny, just plain silly but also serious.

Hayden Kays 🇬🇧 New Print Release • Show News • For Sale, by Happy Shopper on Oct 29, 2018 17:43:31 GMT 1, I find it quite sad when artists get so obsessed with other artists in this way. I think they think they're being clever or controversial, but it's such an easy/lazy target.
