Anthony Lister π¦πΊ Australian Contemporary Artist, by artstylee on Sept 27, 2008 20:07:23 GMT 1, Eric Clapton and Parla Pharell and KAWS Kanye and KAWS
I heard Clapton bought out a whole series that Lee Quiones did, over 12 I believe. It's a series of all old funk/r&b/ and break beat soul albums that were the classic beats that hip hop (rap, break dancing, graffitti) was based off of.
It's a bunch of paintings of record covers like "Shaft in Africa" then he'd do a background color scheme that goes with the record cover he painted.
And Ron Woods of the Rolling stones collects Paul Insect, says a Juxtapoz interview from the one w/PInsect on the cover.
Rock and roll/classic rock heads recognizing/repecting and purchasing Street art now, that's cool.
If rock and roll is based off of blues guitar riffs. Then I guess it's not too far fetched to see them(clapton and ron woods) being open enough to appreciate hip hop influenced street art.
I wonder if it's there own passion for collecting that brought them to these artist, their own clever business/collecting move.
or if they have Business Associate Manager coaxing them through it all,
or is it there personal research/ good taste that brought them to these outsider street art shows. I wonder.

Anthony Lister π¦πΊ Australian Contemporary Artist, by gbh on Oct 2, 2008 10:26:44 GMT 1, love the piece but I'm not so sure the BIN is that much of a bargain...
it 81x81 for 3000 gbp
as far as I'm aware most lister bits are going from galleries at or around the following (AU/US/UK galleries) ...or at least I know of galleries where the pieces can be bought at the below prices....
130x130 3500 gbp
170x170 4400 gbp
just putting it out there.. awesome piece, love it. best of luck with the sale

Anthony Lister π¦πΊ Australian Contemporary Artist, by chief on Oct 9, 2008 6:49:17 GMT 1, buyer is deadbeat already said he misbid blah blah blah. fuck.
I mean, there IS no authentication from Anthony's work what more do people want? It's not like Banksy where people are doing oils on canvas bootlegs. Plus the pictures of the painting next to the other Lister's in my collection should solidify any doubt as is. On top of that responded to all of questions saying "anthony will be staying with me in two days, any kind of authentication he can do I'm sure he'll be more than happy to do it"
ughh. leaving for europe tuesday and broke.
