Anthony Lister ๐ฆ๐บ Australian Contemporary Artist, by laing on Jan 15, 2008 13:26:11 GMT 1, little more than the ยฃ50 for an edition of 35 from Stupid krap though.
I agree, it's quite a hike in price. Think I'll miss this one. Happy with my Spidey Fist's & Cuff's

Anthony Lister ๐ฆ๐บ Australian Contemporary Artist, by Gallery My Arse on Jan 15, 2008 16:29:42 GMT 1, Overpriced and poor prints. His others recently have been average at best but have at least been affordable. There's much better comic book art out there but i guess the so called online "galleries" - don't make me laugh - haven't been able to buy up the prints on offer and rant about them on these pages to vastly inflate the prices.

Linderman. If you are the same Linderman from the series 'heroes', then you have no right to talk about the market crashing, when it is your intention to blow up new york city.

Anthony Lister ๐ฆ๐บ Australian Contemporary Artist, by veralynn on Jan 15, 2008 19:41:49 GMT 1, I dont think you should be 'challenged' to buy something but I do think you should expect to pay what something is worth in order to secure it, this is the case with every commodity apart from Banksy's prints and +1 to Rudecopper. My opinion is you should buy art to frame and stick it on the wall, sure if you get bored in a year or so move on, nothing wrong with that and if you have 'profit' so much the better. My fav ever piece of art is a dodgy photo bought in Brighton for ยฃ35, if you like the Lister print enough to pay ยฃ750 or whatever buy it. Simple?

Anthony Lister ๐ฆ๐บ Australian Contemporary Artist, by aginghippie on Jan 15, 2008 19:45:30 GMT 1, Only if the galleries tried to maintain the edition size. The price rise would force out all the flippers but also a percentage of the fans who could no longer afford the price. Limiting the edition size would let the galleries match demand better and the price would be more stable in the market - which is what galleries are after.
On the plus side although you would be able to buy fewer pieces at least you would be able to take the time to consider whether you actually wanted it, or whether it was going to join the other tubes under the bed.
This market as it stands today is far from stable, shown in the huge variation in prices for identical works, and ultimately the big galleries want a stable market with steadily rising prices. They don't want to get stuck with a JD print they are trying to shift for what used to be a mildly inflated 2200 when the current price is below 1000.

Well there has def been a correction already since the mass neate release and then the mass Micallef release. Choe's tried to do the same which has been a PR nightmare for his upcoming show and now Lister's print has been received poorly and reduced by ยฃ100!!!
I don't buy this 'cut out the flipper' thing - 'thats why the prices are high', what next, a signed banksy release of 500 at ยฃ2500 each?
We're a powerful bunch and if they don't look after us it might hit them where it hurts one day!

Skins - I totally agree but last time i said this it caused some kind of mild controversy!
Frankie: The artist in Heroes is a comic book artist - I have one of his novels - I'll have to dig it out to get his name. Typical of Linderman to give the story away - he's evil - he's gangster number 1.
