The set was delivered last week. Bill arrived today. TNT, like FedEx, pays for you then asks you to reimburse them.

Amount is £187.36 (inc. handling charge) against a value of £3,334.28. It’s listed on the forms as a catalogue, which are rated zero for VAT, I believe. Even so, £167.36 is 5% of the total. Anyone understand how they arrive at that? It’s not a huge charge given the value, so I’m not that concerned about it. Just trying to understand it. The stupid people at NGV wrote catalog instead of book. Customs charges are processed by computer, so mistakes are frequently made. Look up the appropriate code. Call them with it and tell them that if necessary you can provide a link to the original item and it's description proving that you should not have been charged. Nine times out of ten is it a hassle-free conversation.

TNT is worse, charge 25 Euro for handling, Fedex only 12 Euro - same company. The last time they made a mistake with customs declaration, I had to pay double duty. Complained, but no feedback...
Fedex and UPS are good in my experience. Seller should choose a more stress-free delivery option for the buyers.

I have only just had a chance to look at them (I went overseas on the day I got them). Anyone who knows my collection, will know that I've had a lot of KAWS prints and original paintings, but the quality of these is mind-blowing. Apparently Brian spent months making sure the flourescent colours popped in just the right way.
A photo doesn't do them justice (especially with my photo skills).
The packaging is fantastic too.

I used gift wrapping paper that I had left over from Christmas. It's just flipped over and I taped it to the edges of the table.

I'm glad I saw it; at the time I was (somewhat superficially) impressed, mostly by his technical skill, but the works didn't really "move" me, or have much meaning. Now the association they have will forever make them symbolic of this time.
A bat flaps its wings in Wuhan and closes Haring, Basquiat, and Kaws exhibitions in Melbourne.
