Big show opening tonight and barely a whisper of conversation. One of the key drivers of urban art his part in what will eventually be seen as an important art movement in years to come seems to have been forgotten. Agreed on all accounts! Would only add he's also one of the nicest guys you'll hope to meet. Poor old grandad's comments notwithstanding. Seems this board is currently organized around flipping for profit.

And as I said, I like Shep´s work a lot but to be honest I own 12 of his prints and I´ve bought most of them via Ebay or Catawiki and could get them cheaper as I would have bought directly from Obeygiant. They ask for 35-50 USD shipping to Germany plus I have to pay import taxes since they are super clean with declaring theirs shipments. Private sellers send them for 15-20 USD shipping (tracked) and declare them as a gift. |

There is always a high demand for Shepard´s prints. A few prints might be more flippable than others...

The editioned show prints were still available in Stolen Space Gallery today. I saw at least three people buy over the counter when I was there. They are really nice in the flesh.
It's an interesting show. A lot of Shep staple images which his hardly surprising as its a retrospective, but some of the re-works - especially on the large format HPMs and canvases - are stunning. Most of what was on the wall of both venues was sold. What I didn't realise was that he toured this show over in France before London.
