I did only say probably as Iโm no consumer rights expert or have any legal background. However, lying about selling out of a limited edition you could potentially argue that it falls foul to Unfair Trading Regulations by pretending that the offer is only available for a very limited time to pressure customers into an immediate decision. ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ fortunately none of this applies to graffiti prints so not sure why people are trying to talks**t on them. I'd have a browse of someones elses though i suppose
And I think the guy is a bit of a knob, but so am I, maybe that's why I wont buy it?

Best ยฃ25 I've spent all year imo and can't wait to receive it. I would have paid ยฃ75 for it. No hype required for me.

Can you manipulate order numbers on Shopify though? I thought they were sequential apart from a prefix you can assign.
It's reasonable to expect that 5,000 people would spend ยฃ25 to enter a lottery to receive a Banksy print... and that is without considering the genuine interest in the book itself.
And did people really think they would definitely get a tenner if they ordered 100 books? I guess that's another intricacy of the English language and feel sorry for those who may have misunderstood, but it was pretty clear to me. And would someone really spend ยฃ2,500 on books exclusive of shipping just for a tenner that people are buying for US$900?

We have sold out the entire First Edition of BANKSY CAPTURED in the first twenty four hours. Thanks to everyone who's brought a copy, we are working on getting them shipped to you as soon as possible.

Another book on the shelves Just for clarification @lroy he meant, for example if you were the very 1st person on the site when they went on sale and ordered 100 copies you would still only receive one Di-faced tenner as would the next 49 people regardless of how many copies they purchased (it was limited to maximum 3 books per online order). I'm sure shops wanting to stock the book in larger quantities would need to make arrangements direct with Laz and may or may not be interested in receiving a tenner. The 50 tenners and print raffle is a generous gesture but I don't think thats the reason people are buying the book, anyway never mind we'll all have a new book to look at soon. |
